Eduardo sat up in his chair when he heard that from Camila, “What do you mean by Amora is dead.” He couldn’t believe it. “Tell me you’re lying.” He was beginning to fret as he gripped Camila’s hands, she had started to cry so profusely.
She must’ve been so shaken to lose her one and only friend. Eduardo knew how close they were, she must’ve been so lonely, and where was he?
“Where were you all this time? We all needed you the most and you vanished into the thin air like we never existed.” Camila accused gripping his hands. “She missed you, she always spoke of you. We tried to reach out to you but…” she was dabbing her eyes over and over again.
Eduardo was stunned. He was lost for words. He tried to force back the tears gathering in his eyes but couldn’t. “I’m so sorry Camila. I’m so sorry that I had to leave without a warning.”
Camila was wiping her face off with a wet wipe while staring at Eduardo, “She loved you so much. She waited for you Eduardo, you were so cruel to my friend. You turned your back on her when she needed you the most.”
He wanted to explain himself. Why he left, why he couldn’t stay. He wanted to say something to defend himself;
“I don’t want to see you around my daughter.” He could remember Mr. Francesco warning him, “You’re a bad influence on her, stop seeing her.”
“But sir…”
“You want money? Name it but I don’t want you around my daughter. You won’t like what I will do to you when I see my daughter around you.” Mr. Francesco had warned with a stern look on his face.
And ever since, he had refrained from Amora until he flew out of the country to America. “I was…I couldn’t stay because her father didn’t want me.” He tried to put up a defense.
“You listened to her father? Don’t you know who he is or you forgot? We both know how much he tortures Amora. We both know how Amora can’t almost breathe because of him and yet, you left. You left Eduardo, you think she will forgive you?” Her eyes brimmed with tears again.
Just then, her phone began to vibrate and her eyes were quick to take her phone away before Eduardo could look at her phone screen.
“I need to take this.” She said and stood up, strolling away to a corner where she wiped her tears and clicked on the green button; “Amora, why are you calling me?” She asked, trying to sound nice but the awkwardness in her voice was very much visible.
From a distance, she could see Eduardo staring at her and she had to turn away, move so many steps forward so Eduardo won’t be able to catch up with any of her conversations.
“Camila!! You won’t believe this!” Amora yelled, sounding so excited over the phone.
“Believe what?”
“He called!! He said he would love to see me tomorrow!! And guess what? He sent me beautiful dresses for our outing tomorrow. Said I could pick one I would love to wear for him.” She sounded so sweet and Camila clutched her phone tight, gritting her teeth.
“Oh, really? He must…”
“Yes! I told you. He is busy. He said he was busy all this while, that’s why he never called and now that he did, I’m so happy.” Amora giggled and Camila could imagine her jumping around the room, “You need to see the heels he bought for me, they’re all Louis Vuitton products. Antonio is such a romantic!”
“He’s rich and he has to throw some cash.” Camila replied awkwardly, “Uh… I have to go. I will call you back later.”
“When are you coming back? I need help choosing my dress for tomorrow.” She said while Camila hung up her phone.
She needs help in choosing her dress? Camila stared at her phone screen for a while, anger welling up inside her as she stared at Amora who was her phone wallpaper.
Amora was smiling so elegantly in her loose dress and loose hair. Her long raven hair was sprawled all over her body with her smoky eyes. She stared at that picture until she lost her sense of breathing.
She walked back to the table and sat down reaching for her cup of coffee and gulped it down watching Eduardo, tears on his face and his hand on his jaw.
He could be this sad about Amora but he never made a fuss or cried when her father died. He was just all smiles and teasing all day long with Amora by his side.
She wished Amora could just go to hell and never come back. Maybe she could just drown her so she’d never show up in her life ever again.

Amora was so happy that she could barely catch any sleep that night. Antonio called, not only did he call but he was speaking so softly towards her and how much he missed her company.
Bambino….that name was stuck in her head as she kept swaying till morning. She was all over the place preparing for her date with Antonio.
“You’re already preparing for the date?” Camila asked as she came out of her room to see Amora brushing her teeth and drying her hair.
“Yes, I don’t want to ever make him wait for me. He said he will send one of his men to come pick me up and I should never make any of his men wait for me.” Amora said, chuckling remembering how Antonio said those in a seductive way over the phone.
Camila smiled and yawned before taking a seat behind her, “You really love this man, don’t you?”
“You need to see the way he looks at me, Camila. Like I’m the only woman he would ever love.” Camila chuckled, collecting the dryer from her and helping her to dry her hair, “I’m serious.”
“From all the articles I’ve seen about Mr. Alessandro Antonio, he loves his wife dearly alongside his three beautiful children. So it’s ridiculous to hear you say that he looks at you like someone… woman….What did you say again?”
Amora sighed. There’s no way she would make Camila understand the connection she has with Antonio. There’s no way she would get it because she spends more time worrying about her than seeing what she sees in Antonio.
“Help me pick out my dress.” Amora said as she led Camila into the room where three beautiful dress of different colors and different designs were lying on the bed.
“Should I wear the green one, the red one or black?” Amora asked, pointing at the dresses.
Camila stared at the dresses, “Green looks nice on you, you love short dresses and exposing clothes, so green is fine.”
Amora smiled and picked up the black dress, “Antonio said he loves black and would love to see me in a black dress.”
“Why did you ask me if your married boyfriend already told you what to wear?” Camila teased while Amora was giggling all the way before she began to put on the black mini dress which was strapless and at the same time, almost see through.
“The dress is so exposing Amora.”
“That’s what Antonio wants. He wants me to wear something like this. He said he likes seeing my legs and back. And my neck too.” Amora said with glowing eyes. “He loves his women in short revealing dresses.”

“And where are you going dressed like that?” Antonio asked furrowing his brows, his legs crossed, his phone tablet in his hand when Vittoria walked out wearing a short black tight dress and red high heels, “I’ve warned you that I don’t like seeing my own woman in a short revealing dress!”
