Callie’s POV For one terrifying second, I forgot how to breathe. Jenna stood there, a few steps away, her face caught between the glow of the Christmas lights and the dim shadows of the hallway. Her brows were slightly furrowed, her mouth parted like she’d just called my name and I hadn’t answered. My brain screamed one word over and over again. Caught. My heart slammed so hard against my ribs I was sure she could hear it. My mouth opened, but nothing came out. No explanation. No excuse.
