They’d been traveling for three days since parting with Zelna, and he’d insisted on speed, pushing Kamira’s body to its limits. In the evenings all she wanted was to sleep, not talk to a demon, but she’d be lying if she claimed she wasn’t avoiding Veranesh. Waiting until they reached Kaighal seemed the best choice, since at least she’d have the energy and mindset of dealing with him, but as time passed, so might the demon’s patience.
