Wright: I wake up before the alarm. Not because I’m rested.Not because I want to.But because Emma is sprawled across my chest like she’s trying to fuse herself into my ribcage. Her cheek rests over my heart, her fingers curled into the sheet, her leg tossed across me like gravity doesn’t apply. She’s breathing slowly and softly, lips parted slightly. She looks peaceful in a way I don’t think I’ve ever seen from her. I don’t want to leave. But my class starts soon, and she needs the rest. Carefully, I slide my arm out from under her.
