Evander The private suite in the compound was far enough from the banquet hall to offer privacy but close enough that we could still hear the distant hum of hundreds of guests gathering for the evening’s festivities. The moment we entered, the noise of the outside world faded. Warm lighting illuminated polished wooden floors. Comfortable chairs had been arranged around a low table stocked with refreshments. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the gardens separating the suite from the main hall. Everything about the room had been designed to help important guests compose themselves before facing a crowd.
