7. Strange world

The moment Azriel was sucked into the void, his senses snapped, and he looked around him. However, he could see nothing, it was pitch dark and completely cold, colder than the cave he had been in. 'What the heck!!! Am I kidnapped?' He wondered, the thought alone making him lose his senses.  Azriel tried to get up, but he could not. Something was weighing him down, making it impossible for him to move. However, he did not feel any binds that could render him immobile. "Damn it!!" He cursed, but nothing came out of his mouth, and Azriel's eyes widened in realization. "What is happening to me?" He almost yelled, but he could not hear his own voice.  Now, Azriel was beyond terrified, and he spread his hands in front of him trying to feel the place he was in. But there was nothing, he could not feel anything. "Where am I? How did I get here? Am I in a box?" He wondered, spooked by the circumstance he was in. But he did not get any answer, for he did not know anything.  Azriel tried to recollect what had happened, all that he could remember, and everything flashed before. 'I was in a cave with Mr. Glenn, and then I saw this purple light. Was it the cause to all of these?' He wondered. However, the thought vanished as soon as it had come. 'No way...' Before he could finish his notion, a bright light hit him, making him cover his eyes. "Ugh!!" He groaned, and before he knew it, he fell hard on a flat surface. "What the f**k!!" He cursed, and he blinked when his voice fell on his ears. "I got my voice back. I got my voice back. I got my voice back." He shouted in glee as he stood up and dusted his pants. But the moment he got up, he was stunned beyond belief. The scene before him reminded him of a Marvel movie. He saw people fighting among themselves. But there were no guns or war machines. Heck, there were no swords or spears involved too. Without touching, people were attacking each other, and Azriel could not help but gape at it.  The people were flying in the air while some died with even moving from their places. Azriel could not comprehend what was transpiring and, he rubbed his eyes to see he was dreaming. Alas, no!!. Everything was real, everything was happening before him, and all he could do was watch from where he was. Nobody had noticed him yet as he was far away from the battlefield. Azriel looked around him to see where he was. However, he was in a place unknown, filled with monsters who resembled humans closely. Right at this moment, Keith landed beside him with a groan, and Azriel's blinked at him in confusion. "Keith, how did you come here?" His voice startled the man who was yet to notice where he was and what had happened. He moved away in fear before his eyes fell in Azriel. "What the f**k, Azriel!! You scared me." He complained, trying to get up. "Oh yeah. Look around you. Scared will not be the only word you will be using." Azriel scoffed, and Keith for once did as he was told, only to be flabbergasted.  "What the f**k is this!!!" Keith howled, losing his mind seeing the scene transpiring before him, and he shuddered when he noticed a man flying up in the air before he dropped to the ground with such intensity that his head exploded. "s**t!!" Keith was beyond petrified, and Azriel too was in a similar. They stood frozen in their places, not knowing what to do. They wanted to run. But they did not know where to run. The place they were in was completely new and strange, and it looked nothing like they were used to. There were no buildings in sight, and all they could see was a huge barren land with ruins and fortunately for them, they were far away from the scene of the gore. "Where the heck are we?" Keith queried, his eyes not moving away from the monsters, who were attacking each other. "I have no idea," Azriel replied, not knowing what to do or where he should go. "We finally have you where you are supposed to be, Inspector Azriel." A familiar voice spoke behind the two men, and Azriel and Keith back only to come face to face with their Chief, Walter Brooks, standing before them, his expression solemn and indecipherable. "Chief," Azriel could not believe his eyes, and he blinked at the man who was eying him seriously. "Where the hell are we, Chief? What is this place, and who are those people?" He fired his questions, seeing the familiar man. His presence had brought a sense of security in the two men, and their bodies relaxed slightly. "Yes, Chief. Where are we, and what the hell is happening?" Keith queried, and Walter's eyes snapped to him. "What are you doing here, and how did you even get here?" He frowned, and at once his eyes changed color. His brown orbs turned pitch black, and Azriel and Keith scurried back seeing the baffling sight. "Che...Chief," Azriel stuttered, seeing the man change. It was as though he had changed to a completely different person with the way his eyes had switched colors. He looked less humane, and there was a deathly aura around him that made the two men shiver. "You are not supposed to be here, Keith," Walter's voice too had changed, and it no longer sounded like usual. His low baritone voice had turned into a deep, intimidating, and authoritative tone that condemned people to surrender before him. "Since you are here, it means that you are one of us." His mysterious words made Azriel and Keith blink at each other in puzzlement. "Chief, what do you mean, and what is wrong with yo-your eyes?" Even though Azriel was beyond frightened, he put forth his questions, his voice barely audible. His voice did the job, and Walter went back to his normal human form, his eyes returning to their original color. "Azriel, listen to me, and listen to me carefully." However, the young man's mind was elsewhere to concentrate on his words. He was still dwelling upon what he had seen, wondering how the man's eyes were able to change colors. "Azriel," Walter seethed when he did not get the young man's attention, and this time, Azriel stared at him. "You must be wondering what is happening and why we are here." Walter started once he gained the man's gaze on him. "I'll tell you everything. I promise, but before that..." Walter did not have the time to continue, for he was thrown far away from where he was while Azriel and Keith looked at him in horror. The man coughed out blood as he tried to get up. "Azriel, watch out." He yelled from where he was. But it was too late. The moment Azriel turned back, he saw a monster smiling at him, his eyes gleaming in evilness.
