Her gaze lingered on me for what felt like an eternity, and if Brook hadn't cleared his throat, she wouldn't have shuddered and quickly looked away. I glanced at the man who had been busy before I began leaving the room, even though I hadn't planned to at first.
I hadn't expected to see her still hanging around, but my gaze locked with hers as I stepped out of the room and shut the door.
She tucked her hair behind her ears, nibbled her bottom lip, and began walking away. She passed me, her steps quick as though she were in a hurry, and I chuckled, trailing behind her.
Before she could reach the hallway entrance, I'd lost count of how many times she glanced at me. The sight of her at this party made me feel whole, as though I'd found my other half, and with my hands in my pockets, I walked slowly behind her until she vanished from my sight completely.
Days ago, when I first saw her at Victor's café and she sprained Barron's arm, we'd ended up pressing ice on him until he felt better. But it hadn't stopped Barron from talking about her when we returned to the club base, while a part of me didn't like how he spoke of her as though he was developing interest in her quickly, despite what she'd just done to him.
That was also the day I learned her name was Jade, Duncan's niece. For reasons I couldn't explain, that name had embedded itself in my mind, and her image flashed through my thoughts constantly.
And now we'd met again... or should I say that she'd come to me?
"I should get a better look at her..." I muttered and quickened my pace out of the hallway until I reached the party area. I went straight to the bar and took a seat among the others, only to catch her staring at me while holding her glass of wine as well. "We met again!" I thought, and tapped my finger on the counter for the bartender to come closer.
While I placed my order, I spared her glances. She didn't disappoint, because although she looked away each time my eyes met hers, I knew she'd been staring before I turned to her. And to say that I loved it was an understatement.
The bartender served me my drink, and I sipped from it, paying little attention to the others around me.
I admired her short hair, her toned, attractive muscles, her smooth tan skin, and her sharp, bright green eyes. She looked incredibly captivating, even in her T-shirt and baggy jeans.
The baggy jeans actually showed off her backside well instead of hiding it, and I wondered if she thought no one would admire her with her tomboy personality.
Barron, who pursued anything attractive between the legs, would just have her stripped and taken until she recovered her feminine side... but I wouldn't dare think of such a thing happening under my nose.
I thought I'd seen it all, until I caught her swirling her tongue around her drink before sipping from it. My throat bobbed with something intense rising from my chest. I quickly grabbed my glass and didn't even realize I'd emptied it.
Why was I feeling this way? That was incredibly arousing at that moment, but nothing like that had moved me for a long time—not since Willow cheated and left me heartbroken. Many women had done intense things before, yet it hadn't moved me an inch... but here I was, taking soft gulps more than three times just from watching her swirl her tongue around her drink.
I released a heavy breath and signaled the bartender to pour me another drink.
She set her glass forward and climbed down from the stool. My eyes locked with hers as she peeked at me and began walking into the crowd, mingling.
"Those lips, oh God!" I gasped and grabbed the refilled glass. "Wouldn't they do well wrapped around me?"
I was glad she didn't go deeper into the crowd, so I could still see her from where I sat, though I should have gotten closer to her so as not to lose her presence around me.

I found Leah wrapped around a guy's muscular shoulders while still swaying her hips. She was so good at this, but the pose she'd just struck made me laugh hard.
To avoid getting jostled and dragged by someone since I was feeling a little tipsy from the alcohol I'd had, I decided not to walk deeper into the party area and get mixed up with the crowd.
Or maybe I was lying to myself, because I'd lost count of how many times I'd glanced toward the bar where the biker leader sat, drinking. It was so unlike me not to get irritated at a man staring at me that long—rather, I was kind of fascinated by it.
The times I glanced at him, he wasn't looking away, so I thought it wouldn't be wise to mix with the crowd and get out of his sight.
He could look at me all he wanted; maybe that would brighten his expression a bit.
