I had never been this nervous around a woman, and that made me wonder what it was about her that made my heart palpitate.
We reached the basement where our bikes were all parked, and I pulled out mine from the separate clubhouse yard where it was and hopped onto it. My palms were sweating, and I took more gulps than I ever had, watching as she paraded around my motorcycle, touching the body.
Deep down, I wanted to hear her say a thing about it, maybe that would make me be at rest. She looked like she had a lot going on in her mind at that moment, and I wished I could read her mind.
