When the barman got me the drink I demanded, I was uncorking it when my eyes shifted and I caught Jade walking out and towards the party floor. Her hair bounced at each of her steps, her cheeks flushed as though she'd been giggling all through.
As though she knew I was staring, she swirled her neck to the side, and our gaze met with each other. The side of my lips stretched a bit, and my fingers tightened on the bottle I was holding. Her green eyes sparkled like they could suck my soul right out of me.
