The door closed behind him firmly, the lock clicking audibly. With a scowl, Robert dropped his keys into the bowl beside the door and pressed his fingers to the light pad on the wall. Each room illuminated one after the other. The apartment was lavishly furnished, dark wood and grey walls with splashes of bold colors said in no uncertain terms that it was a man’s residence. Still, the lighting was dim, moody, and romantic, and only made him scowl further. Striding across the room, he unbuttoned his shirt until it was open, his steps carrying him toward the glass wall.
