“Juliet, you need to talk to me.” I stared straight ahead, my eyes unfocused, as they had been for the last fifteen minutes. I only knew how long it had been because Marsh had mentioned it moments before. How was I supposed to talk? My heart and my brain were numb. Why had they never told me? For twenty-seven years, I had been Juliet Adams. Now who was I? “Juliet.” I flinched as he spoke my name, finally looking at him. His eyes captivated me as I stared at him—they always did.
