Mist. I was surrounded by cold, white mist. A white haze obscured my vision. Everywhere I looked was opaque. I held my hand out before me, but even that was lost in the thick whiteness. “Coming …” I whipped around, searching for the owner of the voice. There was none. The word seemed to echo around me, bouncing off the white mist and flinging back at me. My heart raced painfully in my chest as I took a hesitant step forward. “Hello?” I called, my voice sounding small in the vast area I inhabited. I didn’t know how I knew, but I was sure this place was vast indeed. “Searching for the lost.” Once again I spun around, only to find myself staring at that thick white wall. My heart thrummed in my chest, so hard I was sure it would break free and skip off into the whiteness beyond. “Hello!
