Time lost all meaning. My world shrunk to the size of the room I inhabited. The pain in my leg gradually faded, but other pains crept up to replace it. My wrist was beginning to emit a foul smell, and I refused to look at it when the light was on, which wasn’t often. Robert had taken to keeping me in darkness, only allowing the light when he was near. My conditions were horrid. The handcuff at my wrist only allowed for so much movement, and the smell of my refuse was nauseating. My tears had long since dried. Robert gave me only enough food and water to keep me from dying.
