My mind blanked as my body froze, rooting me to the spot. I knew I should do something but I had no idea what that was. I stumbled to the side as Marsh barreled past me, dropping his head and slamming his shoulder into the chest of the man who had spoken. He hit with enough force to send the man falling backward, knocking his partners from their feet. A sound, like the popping of a firecracker, hurt my ears, bits of the ceiling raining down around me just after. “Juliet, run!” Marsh roared at me, grabbing the lead man by the collar of his shirt and jerking him up before sending a closed fist into the man’s nose.
