EPISODE 15: Breaking Point

787 Words
Sometimes strength looks like silence. Sometimes it looks like walking away. But sometimes? It looks like it's finally breaking. AFTER THE CONFESSION The gym slowly came back to life. Whispers. Reactions. People trying to process what just happened. But you? You couldn’t hear any of it. Because your mind was stuck on one thing— “I still do.” Peter’s voice. The way he said it. The way he looked at you. Like nothing else existed. THE BREAKDOWN You made it halfway down the hallway before it hit. Hard. Your chest tightened. Your breathing uneven. And suddenly— You couldn’t hold it in anymore. All the anger. All the humiliation. All the hurt. Everything you pushed down— Came rushing back at once. You stopped. Hands shaking. And then— You broke. Tears fell fast. Uncontrolled. Not quiet. Not graceful. Raw. Because this wasn’t just about him. This was about everything. The trust you gave. The moment you thought was real. The way the whole school saw something that was never meant to be seen. And the worst part? You still loved him. PETER FINDS YOU Of course he did. Because no matter where you went— He always found you. “Ava—” You didn’t turn. Didn’t wipe your tears. Didn’t hide. “Don’t,” you said, voice breaking. But he stepped closer anyway. “I had to say it.” You laughed bitterly. “Of course you did.” Your voice shook now— But you didn’t stop. “You had to say it in front of everyone,” you continued. “You had to make it a scene.” “I was trying to fix it.” “You don’t fix things like that,” you snapped, turning to face him. Your eyes were red. Tear-filled. But your voice? Sharp. “You don’t fix something you broke that badly.” Silence. Because he knew you were right. THE CONFRONTATION “You made me feel like I was different,” you said. “Like I mattered.” “You do—” “Don’t,” you cut him off. “Don’t say that like it changes anything.” Your chest rose and fell unevenly. “Do you know what it felt like?” your voice dropped. “To see that video? To hear people talk about me like I was just another girl you used?” Peter clenched his jaw. “I didn’t post it.” “But it happened because of you.” That hit. Hard. And he didn’t argue. Because he couldn’t. THE TRUTH YOU CAN’T HIDE “I hate you,” you said suddenly. The words hung in the air. Heavy. Peter went still. But you didn’t look away. Because this time— You weren’t lying. “I hate what you did to me,” you continued. Your voice broke again. “And I hate that I still—” You stopped. Because saying it out loud? Made it real. Too real. Peter stepped closer slowly. “Ava…” But you shook your head. “No,” you whispered. “No, you don’t get to hear that.” Silence. But your eyes— They said everything. THE CONFESSION You took a shaky breath. Then said it anyway. Because you couldn’t hold it in anymore. “I loved you.” The words shattered between you. Peter’s breath caught. Because that? That wasn’t something he expected. Not now. Not after everything. Your tears didn’t stop. “I loved you before I even realized it,” you said. “And I hate that you’re the one I gave everything to.” That hurt him. More than anything else. Because now— He understood exactly what he destroyed. HIS TURN “I love you.” The words came out before he could stop them. And this time— They weren’t casual. They weren’t careless. They were real. Too real. You froze. Because part of you— Still wanted to hear that. Still needed it. But it came too late. FINAL BREAK You stepped back. Shaking your head. “I don’t trust you.” Simple. Honest. And devastating. Peter didn’t move. Didn’t argue. Because he knew— That was the truth. “And love without trust?” you whispered. “Is nothing.” That was it. The line. The one he couldn’t cross. ENDING — STILL BROKEN You wiped your tears. Forced yourself to breathe. And turned away. Not running. Not rushing. But leaving. Again. Peter didn’t follow. Because this time— He knew he couldn’t. You walked down the hallway alone. Heart shattered. But one thing clear in your mind— You loved him. And that was exactly why— You couldn’t go back.
