Chapter Twenty-Seven – Revelation CARRIE AND DAVE GAPED. “Don’t worry, loves. She’s only gone inside. We’ll follow. It’s perfectly safe.” Dave’s alarmed eyes sought Carrie’s, but she had no reassuring look to return. They kept pace with their companions as they neared the hill, and her arms came up reflexively as they went inside. She felt nothing at all as they passed through the seemingly solid grassy slope. It’s just an illusion. Inside, the light was so brilliant she had to screw up her eyes. Myriad overhead lights were reflecting off a shiny floor and walls.
