Chapter 13“Law offices of Roberts-Carter.” “This is Doctor Janet Thompson. I'd like to speak with Suzanne immediately, please.” The tactiface at the downtown Phoenix Public Library was toward the back of the second floor, isolated enough that Janet felt she had a reasonable chance of privacy. “One moment, please.” The secretary looked closely at her face. “I'll get her immediately.” Janet had entered the library disguised, scouted out the tactiface, found the nearest restroom to remove her disguise, and then returned to the tactiface to make her call. Late last night, while watching the news in her motel room just outside of Phoenix, Janet had seen a news report that the District Attorney in Denver was dropping the murder charge against her, due to “convincing exculpatory evidence.” J
