Chapter 4: The Ceremony

The Ceremony

After taking a bath and I made sure, everything I need to use are ready. 

After taking a bath,I applied lotions all over my body. I blow dry my hair and wear my brassiere and undies and put my robe on. 

I faced my mirror and start applying makeup. Dahil red medyo darker ang make up ko. After the makeup I start curling my hair and tied the upper part. I removed my robe and wear my gown. It's a red gown and it has an off shoulder with a diamondbeads effect on it. It has cuts on both sides that expose my skin and has low back style exposing the skin of my back. The length swiftly reaches the floor and it has slit on my right leg exposing the pair of Christian Louboutin I am wearing. I wear my pair of accessories, a pair of ruby and diamond necklace and earings.

"I'm done"

"I'm done too" She's wearing a black  gown. Its silk cloth hugs her body firmly. 

"Let's go??" I think we are 3 minutes late and I think everyone is already there na.

As we entered the party everyone's looking at us. No doubt, I'm so beautiful talaga

The party looks so elegant. Chandeliers hanging, table cloths are white and gold with black vase and has gold curves. Red carpets, everyone are wearing black, white, silver and gold except for some that wear Red gown which includes me.

"Let's go to our table" Marga said

as we walk all eyes are on us. Our table is no. 3 which Marga and I belong. Jasmine is there Miss President and another girl that I don't know but she's wearing Red.

Xian, Michael, John, Ryan, and Mathew are here too. Xian is wearing a red tuxedo, it suit him well, while Michael is wearing a black tuxedo. John is wearing a combination of black and white while Ryan and Mathew are wearing white tuxedo. I must admit they are handsome.

"Oh Hello cousin." Marga greets the girl I'm not familiar with. Cousin? 

"You look beautiful." the girl said and kissed Margaret's cheek. 

"Yep, you too. Shyna Marie Chua this is Angel Scarlet Hamilton my roommate and a friend also" Shyna offered her hand for a handshake so I accepted it.

"So, should I call you Angel or Scarlet??" She ask

"Angel will do." I said and smile but someone interrupts our getting-to-know-stage.

"Hi I'm Ryan my lady" The leader of Royalties.

"Angel" i said and accept his hand. Trying to ease the awkward feeling. I don't know him kaya. 

"Your name suits you very well." Flirt. He plastered a quick smirk on his face before showing a small smile.

"I know but not my attitude." I said trying to pull a joke. He chuckled with that so I just smirked.

"I know, I know. You're quite popular." I just winked at him and he's about to say something but it was interrupted by the headmistress of the academy. 

"Good Evening everyone. Can I call Miss Nicole Marshall for her speech? Let us give her a round of applause" the headmistress said.

"Good evening my fellow students, faculty members and headmistress. I would like to thank everyone who took their time to join our annual celebration. Let's toast for tonight and enjoy ourselves." she raised her champagne glass and so we did. Ugh! Good thing her speech weren't boring. That's good, short speech. 

Margaret brought me in the dance floor. We were both laughing as we dance to the music. However, Marga suddenly stops from dancing and stare behind my back. I couldn't help but to look back as well. There is man near the switch. When he noticed I am also looking at him, he smirked and turned off the lights. Some students scream when the lights suddenly turned off. 

My heart start beating fast. I immediately grabbed Margaret's hand and left that place. We headed to the controlling booth where lights are on.

"What are we doing here?" it is much safer here. 

"I don't know" I said, she rolled her eyes and we wait for the lights to turn on.

As the lights turned on students suddenly screamed. Margaret grab my arm and lead where the students are looking. It's a girl, wearing red and lying on the floor where Margaret and I were standing earlier. After scanning the whole place, the man is no longer to be found. Looking at the lifeless body took my energy. I saw a piece of paper on the girl's hand. 

A message, perhaps.

"Margarett how about you tell Nicole to calm the students?" I said. She seems preoccupied but still followed my instructions. I saw her talking to Nicole and so Nicole tried to calm the students.

No one's looking so I immediately grabbed the paper and put it in my purse.

I walk myself back to our table and plastered a worried and scared expression on my face. Jasmine and Shyne were the only people in our table. The boys are missing. 

Could it be one of them did that? But the man earlier was unfamiliar. The man seems like an outsider.

Later on, bumalik din si Margaret sa table namin kasama pa nya si Nicole. Agad naman lumapit sa akin si Margaret at si Nicole kay Jasmine. I remained silent. Not trying to make a point to avoid damage on my hidden identity. 

One thing is so sure. The man was trying to kill me. Although he knew he isn't capable.

"Margaret, I'll just go to the washroom. Can you come with me?" I asked trying to show how scared how I am. Of course an act. 

"Wait, Nicole is it safe if we will go to the washroom??" May be she's worried about me. May be Margaret doesn't knew about my real identity. It's better that way. 

"Sure sure it's safe" She said so I nodded. Dumiretso kami sa washroom. Palinga linga pa si Margaret habang naglalakad kami papunta sa washroom.

As soon as I enter the bathroom I immediately went inside the cubicle. Kinuha ko yung papel sa purse ko and opened it. 

I knew it. It's a message.

'I know you ruler is reading this by now. Are you afraid? The woman I killed is a Red Assassin and she's a spy in the Black Assassin. I'll kill more assassins, just wait and warn you assassin friend. May be she's next or probably you, Queen'

I'm right. He knew who I am. Another thing that is sure, the person who sent this is from the Black Assassin. 

There will be next. Who is it? I have an assassin friend? A Red Assassin to be exact. Who is it?

Lumabas ako ng cubicle and I saw Margaret looking uneasy.

Assassin friend... The only person here in academy I can consider my friend is Margaret.

But the question is, is she a red assassin? Or she isn't?

"Are you okay Margaret?" I pat her shoulder to get her attention.

"Yes I am" she said and put a small smile on her face. 

"Margaret even if you can fight for yourself. Can you promise you'll stay by my side no matter what?" She look at me seriously trying to digest what I just said. 

"Promise. I trust you. I trust you" she said. I can't help myself but to hug her. I am so attached to her. I never had a friend like her. 

"Let's go" i said 

The mess is clean already and parang walang nangyari.

Music is wild. They are dancing wild. They are wearing formal attire but still they are like that. Nilibot ko muli ang paningin ko, wala. Parang walang nangyari.

I stopped scanning the whole place when the music changed suddenly into love song. 

Suddenly, may pila ng kalalakihan sa harapan ko. These men are inviting me to dance and I'm getting pissed. Nakakapagod mag-reject. 

I sipped on my wine and for no reason I stared at Xian and the girls he's flirting with. 

Inaaya syang sumayaw pero umiiling lang sya. Mukhang he's irritated na kaya tumayo sya. Aayaw ayaw pa sya pero papayag din naman! Iniwas ko na ang tingin ko. Baka assuming sya at isipin niya na gusto ko rin siyang ayain sumayaw. 

"May I?"

"Ano bang mahi---" It's him, Xian. I couldn't finish my sentence. I mean, I'm shock. 

"Please, I just need to escape from those girls" He said. Someone is about to ask me so I grabbed Xian's hand. This is not right. I should have said no.

He led the way and placed my hands on his nape. God! I can feel he's body. He pressed more our body when he embraced my waist. I can feel my heart beating fast. 

Under the beautiful chandeliers, these diamonds hanging there, we are here dancing. I can't even look at him because I know my face is probably red. My heart is beating fast and now I just wish he can't feel it. 

"Why don't you look at me?" His voice is surely manly. I don't know but I bravely looked at him. I met his sparkling eyes as if it is the most delicate thing that I could ever handle. It's a bit hazel yet with a hint of green. His eyes are tantalizing. I just couldn't get enough, as if my eyes were suck to just stare at his eyes. 

Did I mentioned how perfect his face is? I am not exaggerating anything. 

He has this strong jaw but it's cut perfect manly fine. His nose, parang masayang magpadulas. His eye lashes na mas mahaba pa ata yung kanya kaysa sa akin. Then his eyebrows, so cute lang. He has a pair of hazel with a hint of green eyes, it's like nakakalunod ang tingin nya. He has dimples pala and look at his lips na natural na pinkish. Kissable siguro!! What Angel?  where that came from?

"Done looking at my face?" He ask and smirked! Damn the lips, I want to kiss it! No! No! No! I want to erase those lips its tempting. 

"Yep. You have perfect face?" I praised him. There's no point in denying. Bakit pa right?

"You don't have" he said and smiled. I just pout, maganda naman ako ah! I pout more! He suddenly changed his gaze. 

Am I that ugly for him to shift his gaze? I so hate him. I'm getting more irritated kaya I decided to let go of him. 

"Dyan ka na nga!" Annoyance is surely evident in my voice. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back to him. I bump onto him chiseled chest. How old is he again? Bakit ang tigas naman ata ng muscles nya?

How many seconds? 10, 20, or 40? I don't know but the only thing that I am thinking was his lips on my lips. Is he kissing me? Yes, Angel ano pa ba sa tingin mo?

Omy...

"Never pout again." He said after he our lips parted. 

He grabbed my hand and pulled me back to our table. Damn! Damn! Damn! That's my first kiss and it's awkward because he is sitting beside me. 

I never really had a serious relationship. Bukod sa laging nasa paligid ko ang brother ko, I really never had a chance to meet new people. Recent na lang, since I came here in the Philippines.

"Good evening everyone." Nicole said. Doon lang nawala sa isip ko ang nangyari sa amin ni Xian. "Part of our annual celebration here in the academy, we will be choosing the newest face for our academy." What face is she saying? "But this time, we have a new mechanics in choosing our ambassadors. While everyone is dancing, we turned on our cameras to look for our next newest ambassadors. Let's all watch this." she said. The screen behind her suddenly turned on. 

My jaw dropped as I saw myself with Xian in the screen. O my gosh! 

"Oh! Angel ang cute mo pala mag pout. Hey! Xian, isn't she cute?" Margaret keep on teasing me and Xian. Why am I not aware of this ambassador thing?

"No" I just rolled my eyes. Margaret gasp as she saw us kissing. Same girl. If only he didn't kissed me and saw myself kissing him, I would also gasp.

I can feel my face burning and my arm in pain. Kanina pa ako hinahampas ni Margaret dahil kinikilig daw siya. It's just kissing. Right?

"O my.." Margaret did not stop teasing us.

"Ouch! Masakit Margaret." sabi ko while trying to pull my arm away from her.

"What a lovely scene? May we call on Mr. Hartford and Miss Hamilton on stage." 

What are they talking about?? I saw Xian's hand in front of me and he's freaking smiling at me. Damn. I sighed and accepted it. He led the way to the stage. We're on stage and he's holding my hand.

"So can we ask a question for the both of you?" Nicole asked. We both nodded

"Are you two in a relationship?" She asked

"NO/WERE NOT" both of us said

"But you two looks very lovely." i rolled my eyes. Lovely my ass.

"We were just pissed as we both keep rejecting people who were asking us to go on the dance floor. I guess he asked me to dance with him so women would stop asking him." I said trying to explain how we got in that situation.

"Sayang naman. You look lovely pa naman. But anyway, you two were spotted and you will be the two newest ambassador of our academy. Let's give them a round of applause" everyone clapped their hands. Xian looks bored.

Actually, kinikilig talaga ako kanina but when he faced the people na mukhang bored na bored sya ay nawalan ako ng gana. Sinuot nila sakin yung crown and sash at sa kanya rin. They even have scepter.

"Are you done na ba?" I asked and they nodded. 

I immediately left the stage with out waiting for Xian. 

"But you need to dance pa." si Nicole tumingin sya kay Xian he sighed and went closer to me.

Ayoko naman sirain ang supposedly ceremony. I accepted his hand. We dance in the same song earlier. Alam nyo yung kilig? Wala. Natapos yung sayaw na tahimik lang lahat habang nanonood silang maghihiwalay kami ng landas.

"Hey what happen?" Margaret asked. 

"Nothing I just want to sleep'' I said at naupo na ako. I suddenly felt na ang boring ng party. Bakit ba ako affected? Tinanggal ko yung crown and sash and put it at the table and eat my food silently. 

Why do I feel like s**t right now?

"Marga can I go to our dorm na? I want to sleep na eh" I said trying to avoid this situation. 

"Wait, I'll ask Nicole first, wait me here. I'll be back" she said I nodded and waited for her. After how many minutes she came back. 

"Angel pwede daw. Hatid ba kita?" She asked with concern on her eyes. 

"Hindi na. I can go alone. Sige na enjoy ka na lang." Tumango sya binitbit ko yung crown scepter and sash at naglakad palabas ng venue. Nakakapagod ah!

I'm walking now in the hallway when I felt a presence. So I stopped walking. Sinuot ko yung crown and sash and held the scepter very tight. Inikot ko ang tingin sa buong lugar and I saw reflection in window pane. 

"Damn! Matibay kaya itong scepter?" bulong ko sa sarili ko. I saw the man holding katana. I reached for my necklace and pressed the diamond in the pendant. I felt my heels changing. Holding my scepter, he walks towards my direction. The moment he raised his katana I kicked him with my heel. 

Tumama yung katana nya sa scepter ko pero mahina lang ito. If I didn't kicked him and received the full force, I bet this scepter will be broken. 

"What do you need??" I ask him.

"The Black Mafia Boss wants me to deliver this letter to you" his hand is trembling. I grabbed the paper. The tip of his katana is in his neck kaya one wrong move and he is dead. Well actually he'll be dead any time soon. My heels has venom kaya.

"How did you know that I am the Ruler?"i ask. My eyebrow raised trying to wait for his answer. 

"It's his description." I sighed and just stared at him. 

"Go run and bring your filthy sword." inabot ko sa kanya yung Katana nya at tumakbo nga sya. Nang makalayo sya, I saw a group of girl and I scanned the floor and I saw blood stains and so I switch off the light and run to our dorm. 

I changed my clothes and hid the letter that the black boss gave to me. I left the room with rugs in my hand and starts cleaning the Black Assassin's blood. 

I even cleaned the rug and flushed the water with blood. 

I took a quick shower and trying to remove every possible evidence.

"Hey! Angel where are you??" I stepped out of the bathroom. Margaret is already here.

"Oh the party already ended?" Bungad ko sa kanya.

"Yep" tumango lang ako at nahiga na.

When she turned off the lights I opened my lampshade and opened the letter.

'I'm starting! Warn your assassin friends and tell Red Swansea that he should prepare the Red Assassin or may be Swansea is the next, maybe the Three H will be next. I know you Red Mafia Ruler I know you'

How am I supposed to warn them?
