Walking in the empty streets of the town I could barely remember, I felt like I was being followed. I knew nothing bad would happen because I looked into the trees and seen the wolf that I had seen a million times in these dreams. He was always there, watching my every move. I wasn’t scared of him though, it gave me a feeling of comfort knowing he was there.
His blue-gray eyes piercing into me like he was looking into my soul. Like he knew what I was thinking or what my next move was. His brown fur looked soft to the touch, but I wasn’t going to pet him because I figured that would be crossing boundaries. I don’t think he would care though, to be honest.
He started walking to me slowly as if he was scared I would run away. He eventually stopped a few feet away from me and sniffed the air. He growled quickly then ran back to the forest. Not even two seconds later I heard the word mate. That word rings in my head like school bells. I looked back into the forest only to the silhouette of a man who was about 6’0 ft tall, walking away deeper and deeper into the forest. As he walked away the sense of comfort that I felt was slowly creeping away and I suddenly felt scared.
The street lamp above me started to flicker. The uneasy feeling started to creep into my body and up my spine. I started to run seeing the silhouette of two people walking towards me. I saw something glint in their hands from the light of the street lamp. As soon as I saw that, I ran even faster and pushed myself to run and not look back.
The familiar growl in the distance brought the feeling of comfort back but I didn’t stop running. I couldn’t.
That’s the dream I had since I found out I was going to my grandma’s house a week ago. They kept occurring every night and I couldn’t stop them.
