SAFFRON'S P.O.V
I was admitted to the hospital for over a week. They'd requested that I stay longer than normal to keep an eye on both Oceania and me due to our strange circumstances. I was just ready to be home already. I knew that once we were released my new life would start. I wasn't sure how to be a mother, let alone a good one. All I could do was strive to be half as good of a mother to her as mine was to me.
"Cover your eyes." Ma said when we walked down the hallway, leading to my room.
"Why? What could have possibly changed?" I asked sarcastically.
"Just close those eyes, and you'll see."
Her voice had a higher pitch to it. Telling me that she was excited about whatever was behind that bedroom door. Therefore, I would indulge and close them just for her.
