Time was a thief and so was waiting. I opened the journal I had spent countless hours staring at. It contained all of the possible leads over the years. The map was worn down from being folded and unfolded so many times, but it didn't stop me from opening it up again. I unfolded the creases of the map to look at it once again, as if something had magically changed since the last time I opened it. Inside contained all of the states we had searched for Saffron. I had been keeping tabs. It was crazy that the only lead we had was the one Geneva sent us.
That was futile, however. The island Geneva sent us to had no recollection of ever seeing Saffron after the first day she landed. I also questioned the pilot but he hadn't seen her either. He claimed he waited for her unt
