It had been two days since I sent Leon to find out what was going on with the meeting, yet he still hasn’t returned, which meant there was unwelcome news he was avoiding informing me of. The anger rising in my chest, all I had wanted was what was mine, yet she constantly defied everyone around her. I hated resorting to giving personal information about mermaids to humans, but it had meant that I could count on her returning if the job were pulled off correctly. Hearing the chamber doors creak open as the current pushed me from the open window, turning to look seeing a defeated Leon enter my chambers.
