Choices

Bruno and Larry are twin brothers but they're more like representatives of good and bad respectively. They were given birth after the queen their mother waited for ten years before she could bear a child.

While growing up, Bruno was the choice of everyone in the family because he was the seen as the good, obedient and knowledgeable of the pair.

"I know the gods consoled me with Bruno because they know I'll see my eyes through Larry" the queen always does not fail to say in consoling herself whenever Larry does anything mischievous either at the palace or in the kingdom.

Zepta the evil god of the land appeared to him one fateful day with an offer that was very inviting, not rushing him to give an answer yet but whenever he is ready.

Larry after locating the lost device with through GPRS decided to come down to earth in human form to convince the earth lady to handover the device to him. He does not mind he'll give her anything she desires at least she does not seem to need much judging from the view he saw.

"Grandma, no sales today" Lara scowled to her grandmother as soon as she entered the house.

"No problem my child, tomorrow is another day" her grandmother replied her.

"Go and take your bath, I managed to prepare something, yours is under the bed, hurry up and eat before your father returns she added.

"Yes ma, Lara responded.

As Lara was preparing to go take her bath, she took the shiny device she picked on the groud earlier as she was on her way home from hawking to go checkout what it really was at the bathroom (it is a face me i face you house where the bathroom is sometimes outside the house)where she will have a little privacy.

"Waoh, how beautiful it is" Lara murmured to herself as soon as she opened it in the bathroom.

" But what could this be?" she asked herself.

" Whatever it is, I will find out myself tomorrow" she concluded.

After taking her bath, Lara hid the device inside the short she was wearing because it was the only safe place she could come up with after much thoughts about where to hide it.

"Where is that cursed child" Lara heard her father shouted as she was stepping out of the bathroom.

"Daddy am here" Lara responded in fear.

"Go and get me my food, oh and come I do not want to be reminding you all the time, I am not your father" he shouted back at her in anger.

Lara went to ask her grandmother about her father's food and she was told by her grandmother that no food was reserved for her father and that since he spends all his money drinking outside he should not expect any meal at home.

Lara out of fear could not go back to convey such message to her father so she decided to go to the back of the house to sit and think about what to do with the device even though she was yet to eat her dinner.

"Lara Lara Lara" , Lara heard her father calling her name but dared not answer because she was scared and knows that he will surely give her a beating for not returning back to him with an answer to the errand he sent her.

She could not go back into the house until she was sure that her father was fast asleep. That night as she slept she cried bitterly wishing God will change her father or better still take her to the place where her mother is.

"Grandma good morning ma, I want to go to school" Lara told her mother in the morning as soon as she joined her in the shop.

"I want to be a medical doctor, I know that my mum died after giving birth to me because of complications. You and my dad could not afford the payment for her to be transferred to a specialist hospital that was why she died" Lara further explined.

"I do not want to live this life anymore Grandma, I want to be a medical doctor" Lara made more emphasis this time around.

"My child but you know I do not have the money to send you to school? " her grandmother reminded her.

"I know grandma that is why I will start from somewhere" Lara responded back to her grandmother

"Somewhere like?

"Like going to meet Faith to take some of her books to read" Lara replied her grandmother.

"Hmmmmmm," grandmother grunted out in deep thought.

"Hello boss" Johnson answered as soon as he took out his phone from his pocket.

"I know you're on your way back to base, Kindly return back to that Community because you need to tidy up somethings for me" Mr. McDonald told him.

"Okay Sir, I will do just that" Johnson replied and he ended the call.

"Driver please I will stop at the next bus stop I forgot something at home, I need to return back". Johnson told the driver because he was seating at the front with him.

Johnson returned back to the community and called his boss to tell him of his return, Mr. McDonald instructed him to go and pay a visit to the DPO (Divisional Police Officer) of the community.

"I want to see the DPO of this station" Johnson told one of the police officers be met at the counter.

"Oga is not around now, why do you want to see him?" the policeman asked him.

"I do not think it is any of your business Mr........

"Emelie" the policeman called out his name to Johnson while looking at him from head to toe.

"No problem, what is your name then in case he returns so that I can let him know you where around" Emelie asked him.

" Do not worry yourself because I will return tomorrow to see him myself," Johnson answered him while leaving the station.

"What kind of a weird person is this? Emelie asked his other colleague at the other side of the counter.

"Do not forget we come across different people everyday" his colleague responded in return.

"Na wa (it's alright)" Emelie concluded.

"Returning to earth is going to be a difficult transformation for me, how do I go about it? Larry asked himself.

"Where do I even start from?" he questioned himself again.

"Will she understand me and hand it over to me? this is really going to cost me a lot of I do not retrieve it" he told himself.

" I will do whatever it takes to retrieve the device back, a lot us really at stake and I can not stand any talk from my mother the queen." he thought further within himself.

Larry is not actually a bad person but because from birth all the love, affection, attention and care were showered on his twin brother who had better looks than him, he developed within himself mischievous ideas that will at least draw some attention to him only that the attention he received in return was a never what he expected.

Things deteriorated even as they grew older because everyone labelled him the bad brother between them both and that still didn't bother him at all, he is enjoying all his mischievous acts and that is what matters most to him.

"Excuse me Miss" Larry said as he ran to catch up with Lara.

" Please you look like someone am looking for" he told Lara.

"Really? Lara responded in disdain.

" I know you do not know me but I know you, it's just that I can not remember your name" Larry told Lara.

" You do not mean it, Lara answered finding it hard to surpress the laughter in her stomach.

"Oga sir I know your type, your type goes around looking for young girls to profess love to, use and then dump them" Lara told him straight up.

" Besides your lines are too weak and common, kindly use another" Lara said laughing at him finally while she ran to her friend's house leaving Larry behind.

"What kind of a girl is this? Larry asked himself in shock as he walked back to his hotel room. It seems like this girl is going to be a hard nut to crack and i not know how to handle people on earth Larry thought in his heart as he was walking back to his hotel room.

Well I still have two weeks to go and I know I will recover my device from her, he finally concluded. It is good to know that our time frame is different from theirs if not my good and well be behaved brother will not wait to hand me over to the slaughters for sacrifice.
