C30: The Forbidden Garden
Lilith walked ahead while Raine followed closely behind.
The further they went, the quieter the palace became.
The lively sounds from the main halls faded, replaced by a strange stillness that made Raine slightly uneasy.
“This place is far from the main palace,” Raine pointed out.
Lilith glanced back briefly.
“It is a private area,” she replied simply. “Not many come here.” She hid the fact that they were in the forbidden area.
Raine nodded but said nothing more.
After a few more turns, they reached a tall iron gate.
It was slightly open, Raine’s steps slowed.
Her eyes fixed on it, she didn't know why her heart raced.
“Is this the garden?” she asked quietly.
