C38: A New Phase
The next morning came faster than Raine expected.
She opened her eyes with a groan and quickly sat up when she noticed the sunlight already slipping through the curtains.
“I overslept,” she muttered.
She had spent most of the night tossing around with restless thoughts, and now she had woken up late because of it.
Raine hurried to freshen up while Liya prepared things for her quietly. After bathing, she stepped out and reached for a beige colored dress.
Liya watched her silently before sighing. “My lady, you are in a hurry today.”
Raine paused briefly before answering, “They are leaving today.” Liya understood immediately.
She helped tie Raine’s long red hair into a loose messy bun. “You barely slept,” Liya said softly. “You should rest more.”
