“Oh my god Naomi, where on earth have you been,” Blaz asked, so worried, moving towards me, he stops frowning, “you smell like a wet dog.”

“I was lost in the woods and I found my way back,” I shrug, ignoring his comment about the dog.

My father appears behind Blaz and says, “ Blaz, why don’t you go home? I would like to have a word with my daughter. She will see you tomorrow.”

“Yes sir,” looking at me, “I’ll pick you up tomorrow for school.”

Once he was out of the way my father looked at me and said, “Ok where were you really.”

I bite my lip and look up at my father, “we were going over transportation spells in class and Blaz kinda said the wrong spell and I got transported into wolf territory, and well a wolf named Zander saw me and sensed my wolf so he uhh brought me into their village and took me to the alpha female and well I kinda sorta met my mother and she explained that once I turn eighteen I will have to leave here and become the next alpha female. Also that I have a potential mate and that right after graduation I have to leave here until my time is over.”

He pinches the bridge of his nose, “Oh Naomi I should have told you I’m so sorry, listen you must avoid touching Blaz tomorrow because I think he may be your soulbound and you can’t have him until your wolf mate dies. Ok darling you have to understand that on Thursday you graduate and you need to leave as soon as possible because at 18 your wolf will want to come out more often. Ok well I have to go and train some of the new warriors so don’t wait up for me and Please let Estel know that I won’t be home for dinner.”

He gives me a hug and a kiss on the head, turns and walks away. I then move to head back to our house across the way. When I enter the house I get pummeled by a squirmy little blonde boy, for his satisfaction I lift him in the air and give him a very big hug.

“Hey punk, how was water training today,” I ask my little brother.

“Nay nay, I missed you, It was so fun,” he looked up at me with his beautiful blue eyes and button nose.

I ruffle his hair, “ Oh yeah? That's awesome bud. Now go play with Jez, I need to talk to mom.”

I set my phone on the counter and look at the beautiful blonde woman standing in the kitchen, “ hey momma, how was court today?”

“Hello beautiful daughter of mine, it was alright. I’m assuming your father went to train some boys and won’t be home for dinner again?” Estel looks over at me with a smile.

I look at her and sigh, “unfortunately this is true, I’m sorry Estel I know that you wish he was here more than he was off being a war general.”

She sighs, “It’s alright Nay, now dinner will be ready around eight so go away until then.”

I walk around the counter as I pick up my phone and kiss her cheek before walking upstairs. I went into my room. Flopping down on my bed I flip open the spell book and start reading about some of the spells I need to learn. I found one that I really want to try. I feel a strange need to see Zander so I do a sneak peek privacy spell.

Sitting up I wave my hands in a circle in front of me as I chant, “ Hereinschauen Zander.” In seconds Zander appears in the circle smiling and talking to Octavia in the woods. In seconds he changes into his beautiful tan wolf next to his niece's red and brown one. When his head turns and I look into his green eyes I feel my wolf shiver in response and realize that he is the most beautiful man I have ever seen. He starts running through the woods and I soon realize that my wolf wants out; she wants to be free to run.

Closing the sight orab I exit my room and tell Estel that I need to go for a run. She nods and I leave out the back so I can get to the woods immediately once I’m free and alone at the edge of the trees I strip down so I don’t rip my clothes and shift. With me being half elf I have a strange gift to where my wolf always matches with my hair, so with my hair being a dark black with purple streaks in it my wolf also had that. As I started to pick up speed I heard something off to my right, slowing the pace I noticed amber eyes peeking through the woods.

What are you doing out here, comes Zanders voice in my head.

Whoa that's weird I can hear you in my head, I think back.

If wolves could laugh he would have, Yes that would be how we communicate in wolf form.

Right, anyways my wolf needed to be let out; she wanted to run.

Ahh ok I understand, might I just say your wolf is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

Oh why thank you, yours is- I stop and smell the air realizing that zanders sent is surrounding her. Zander, what just happened?

Umm s**t I started to imprint on you f**k I...I need to rub against you and touch you right now or I’m gonna freak and my wolf’s gonna be pissed.

O...ok go ahead I’d rather have your yummy scent on me than any other mans, I said, not realizing what I meant.

He walks over to me and a shiver goes through me as he starts to rub his scent all over my body, I wanted so badly to change and become mates right then and there, but I knew that I had to wait until I’m eighteen and was a part of his world full time. When he stopped touching me, my wolf whined in protest and I knew I couldn’t stay away long.

Naomi I think you better leave before something happens that we can’t stop. I'll see you tomorrow.

As soon as he left I realized what had happened and I ran home and got dressed. I ran through the backdoor and needed a distraction so I went over to Jezabel’s crib and picked her up. She wiggled a little and then smiled her toothless grin at me. I swooned at the sight of her. This is the perfect child; her eyes sparkled with joy.

“Ugh, don’t look at me like that Jez, keep that icy purple gaze away from me,” I rolled my eyes at her, “ lucky baby you don’t have this problem huh.”

I laughed to myself, I am losing my mind, I am talking to a baby. That exact moment Arwyn decided to run in. He glided across the wood and landed in front of me and Jezebel

“Dinners ready!” he screams and runs back into the kitchen.

I stand up with Jezebel on my hip and walk into the kitchen. I sit at the table and eat the chicken and mash potatoes that are cooked to perfection and have light dinner conversation with Estel while Zander is on my mind the whole time. I might as well have been eating cardboard with the distraction of Zander playing on repeat in my head. I eventually make my way upstairs and lay in my bed until eventually my mind drifts off into sleep with a dream of my wolf running alongside Zanders through the woods.

The next morning I woke up to the smell of fresh bacon eggs and waffles coming from the kitchen along with murmured voices. I was also surrounded by Zanders delicious scent. Reluctantly, I got out of bed and hopped in the bath. After soaking for a good hour, I got dressed and made my way to the kitchen.

“Goodmorning my beautiful daughter so glad you could join us for breakfast,” Estel says in a sarcastic tone.

I giggle, “sorry I really needed a bath, pass the bacon please,” I say with a cheeky grin.

My step-mother smiles at me as she hands me a plate filled with waffles, light and fluffy eggs with five big pieces of bacon, writing on the waffles in syrup and icing were the words “Happy Eighteenth birthday Nay Nay.” That definitely made my grin turn into the happiest smile ever.

“I can’t believe we are finally Eighteen Nay,” Blaz moves in to hug me.

I quickly duck out of his reach, “Happy birthday to us,” I try to keep a smile on my face, but it goes away as soon as I see his frown.

“Why can’t we touch?” he asks, confused.

“We just can’t, I’m sorry I have to go I’ll explain later,” I turn to walk away as I feel a hand grab my arm, the next moment I feel sparks and vibrations go through my entire body. I look into Blaz’s eyes and I can see them in a different light and then I realize what just happened.
