As she changed into the borrowed clothes, Emilia felt a sense of relief wash over her. She was safe, and she had Jason to thank for it. Despite the awkwardness, she appreciated his generosity and warmth.
"Thanks for the clothes," Emilia said, holding up the oversized shirt and sweatpants. "I feel like I'm swimming in these."
Jason chuckled. "Well, you're definitely a lot shorter than me. But hey, at least they're clean."
Emilia smiled, feeling a bit more at ease. "I guess I'll just have to roll with it. Literally, in this case." She gestured to the pants.
Jason laughed. "Yeah, you might want to roll up those cuffs. Don't want you tripping over your own feet."
Emilia giggled, and the awkwardness began to dissipate. "Thanks for understanding. I'll try to make do."
Jason smiled warmly. "You're welcome to anything I've got. Just make yourself at home."
As Emilia started to roll up the cuffs, Jason teased, "You know, you look like a kid playing dress-up in your dad's closet."
Emilia playfully rolled her eyes. "Hey, these are comfy, okay? I'll rock this look."
Jason chuckled. "I think you might just start a new trend. Oversized chic."
Emilia laughed, "If I do, you're the one who'll be credited as the style icon who inspired it."
Jason grinned. "I'll take that."
As they chatted, Emilia felt a sense of surprise at how easily she and Jason were connecting. Despite the circumstances that had brought them together, she found herself feeling comfortable around him, like she'd known him for much longer than just a short time.
The way Jason teased her and made her laugh put her at ease, and she appreciated his kindness and generosity. Emilia realized that she had been so focused on her own struggles that she hadn't expected to find someone like Jason, who seemed to genuinely care about her well-being.
As they sat down to a simple but delicious meal Jason had prepared, Emilia felt grateful for his presence in her life. She couldn't help but wonder if this was the start of something more, or if their connection was just a result of circumstance. Either way, she was happy to enjoy the moment and appreciate Jason's company.
Henrietta's eyes glazed over as she stared blankly ahead, her mind foggy from the substance she'd consumed. "Daughter?" she mumbled, her voice slurred. "What do you mean?"
Rooney's grip on the steering wheel tightened. "Emilia, your daughter. She's not going to be a problem for us anymore. We've taken care of her."
Henrietta's head lolled to the side, her eyes unfocused. "Emi...lia?" she whispered, a faint glimmer of recognition in her voice.
Rooney's expression remained cold, unyielding. "Don't think about her now. We need to focus on getting out of here before things get messy." He accelerated, the airport looming ahead, their escape plan in motion.
The sound of screeching tires and crunching metal filled the air as Jason's car collided with Rooney's vehicle. Both drivers stepped out, assessing the damage.
Rooney's face darkened as he took in the situation. "What the...? You can't even drive?" he snarled, his anger fueled by the urgency of their situation.
Jason held up his hands, apologetic. "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there. Let me exchange information with you."
Henrietta, still disoriented, stumbled out of the car, her eyes wide with fear. "What's going on?" she mumbled.
Rooney's expression turned sinister. "This isn't good. We can't afford to draw attention to ourselves."
Rooney swiftly grabbed Henrietta's arm, pulling her away from the accident scene. "We can't stay here," he muttered, his eyes scanning the area for any signs of trouble.
They quickly hailed a taxi and sped off towards the airport, leaving the damaged car behind. The tension was palpable as they rode in silence, Rooney's mind racing with the potential consequences of the accident.
As they approached the airport, Rooney's grip on Henrietta's arm tightened. "We need to keep a low profile," he whispered, his eyes darting around the crowded terminal. "No mistakes, Henrietta. We have to get out of here without drawing attention."
Henrietta nodded weakly, still disoriented and struggling to keep up with the situation. Rooney's urgency was contagious, and she knew they had to move fast.
As Jason watched the taxi speed away with Rooney and Henrietta, he couldn't help but wonder about their strange behavior. Why were they in such a hurry? And why did they seem so...out of it?
Shrugging off the thoughts, Jason got back into his car and continued on his way to the golf course. He had a training session to attend to, and he couldn't let his focus waver.
As he arrived at the course, Jason's mind began to shift gears, focusing on the game ahead. The fresh air, the sound of clubs striking balls, and the thrill of competition helped him shake off the lingering thoughts of the strange encounter.
For now, golf was his priority.
As Jason focused on his golf game, his thoughts were consumed by the intricacies of his swing and the strategy of the course. The rhythmic thud of clubs hitting balls and the camaraderie with fellow golfers created a sense of calm, temporarily pushing the earlier encounter to the back of his mind.
The sun beat down on the lush green fairways, and Jason's competitive spirit kicked in. He was determined to improve his game and beat his personal best score. With each shot, he felt more centered, his focus sharpening as he navigated the challenges of the course.
Despite the distractions, Jason's mind occasionally wandered back to the mysterious pair. Who were they, and what was behind their frantic behavior? The questions lingered, but Jason pushed them aside, prioritizing the game.
As Jason walked into his living room, he was taken aback by the sight of Emilia fast asleep on the sofa. The soft light from the window highlighted her features, and Jason couldn't help but notice how peaceful she looked. He felt a flutter in his chest as he gazed at her, his attraction growing stronger with each passing moment.
Despite the connection he felt, Jason's mind also wandered to the significant age difference between them. He wondered if she was truly ready to explore the feelings that seemed to be developing between them. As he stood there, frozen in thought, Emilia stirred, her eyes slowly opening to meet Jason's gaze.
What are you looking at? Is there something on my face? Emilia asked.
Jason felt a slight flush rise to his cheeks. "No, nothing's on your face," he said with a gentle smile. "I was just...checking to see if you were feeling okay. You were sleeping pretty soundly."
Emilia rubbed her eyes, trying to shake off the haze of sleep. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit exhausted, I guess."
Jason nodded understandingly and sat down beside her on the sofa. "You can rest here as long as you need. You're safe here."
“I need to resume my work in order to pay you back and get myself some clothes, these clothes are not office fits” Emilia said and Jason looked at her thoughtfully.
Jason's eyes sparkled with a thoughtful idea. "I think I can help you out with the clothes. Why don't you take a shower and get refreshed, and I'll take care of the rest?"
Emilia looked at him curiously, but a warm shower sounded like just what she needed. "Okay, thank you," she said, heading towards the bathroom.
As the sound of the shower faded away, Jason pulled out his phone and called his personal shopper.
"Hey, Sarah, it's me. I need a favor. Can you help me pick out some clothes for a... friend of mine? Yeah, I'll send you her style and size."
Just as Jason dropped the call he turned to find Emilia's room door opened, he didn't know-how it happened but found his legs taking him in, he found her in the bathtub and swallowed hard..... turning back almost immediately.
I'm here to take your sizes for my shopper..... do you perhaps need towels or something?
Jason tried to concentrate without thinking dirty, images running wild in his head.
The sound of Jason's voice through the door made Emilia's heart skip a beat. She hesitated for a moment before responding, her voice slightly muffled by the water and the door. "Uh, yeah, towels would be great, thanks." She sounded a bit more reserved than before, and Jason couldn't help but wonder what was going through her mind. He quickly grabbed a few towels and held them outside the door. "Just leave them here, I'll get them," Emilia said, her voice firm but polite. Jason hesitated, then left the towels outside the door, feeling a bit awkward about the whole situation. "I'll just wait outside, take your time," he said softly.
