Chapter 11

“Zia nag reach out na ba kayo sa mga teachers sa plan natin?” Ate Anne said.

“Yes po ate, they said na mag give lang daw sila ng mga ibang ideas for the recognition and moving up ceremony.” I answered.

We are already planning for tomorrow’s event which is the recognition and moving up ceremony. We’re all excited because this is the reward of our hard work and effort and we finally ended this chapter to open a new chapter and to started it beautifully.

“Di talaga ako makapaniwala na mag grade 10 na tayo.” Allisha said while clapping.

“Ako din HAHAHA, imagine after all the hardworks and activities nakaya natin!” Sersha said.

“Hoy shunga may grade 10 pa nga mas mahirap pa!” Celestia said.

“Malapit na tayo mag grade 11 din anong kukunin niyo na strand?” Jeanie asked.

“ABM kunin namin ni Sersha at Celestia. Kayo?” Feigh answered.

“HUMMS ako at si Zia” Allisha said and I just nodded.

“STEM kami eh” Jeanie and Reniella said.

All of the students are busy practicing and they are so excited especially to those who have an awards. Sinong bang hindi maeexcite pag may award ka then your parents will be proud rin.

“Zia congrats for being the top 1.” Ed suddenly said while I’m decorating.

“Thank you so much and same to you mag gragrade 11 kana tapos valedictorian kapa.” I replied.

“Thank you so much.” He said.

The day just ended like that and we’re excited for tomorrow but I’m a bit nervous because some of my classmates we’re going to transferred to another school and I know that its sad.

“Honey what time ang recognition niyo? Mom asked while cooking for our dinner.

“9 A.M po Mom.” I answered.

“Okay honey, call your dad tell him that were going to eat na.” she ordered.

“Is there something wrong Mom? Nag-away po ba kayo ni Dad?” I asked.

“There’s nothing to worry about honey. It’s just misunderstanding.” Mom answered and I just call Dad.

The dinner was so quiet and everything was not really okay because I haven’t see them for a weeks na and whenever I call them they are not together.

“Dad paabot po ng rice please.” I ordered.

“Honey what time ba magstart ang program?” Dad asked.

“9 po Dad, sabay nalang po kayo ni Mommy.” I said.

“Puwede ba 10? I have a meeting kasi baby.” Dad said that made me sad because now they prioritize their business.

“9:30 Dad, puwede po ba?” I suggested because our school is really on time when it comes to a program.

“I will try honey.” Dad said.

“You should be on time Liam kasi once in a lifetime lang to tapos uunahin mo pa business mo!” Mom ranted.

“I am trying naman Yellie and its also important because its the reputation of the company” Dad yelled.

“What happened kasi Mom and Dad! I never requested any time of the both you pero sana bukas pumunta naman kayo Mom kasi minsan nga lang then we just only eat dinner sometimes kasi puro business lahat kayo tapos mag aaway pa kayo.”I said then I walked out.

Things got worse today. I was about to cry pero I don’t want to because I had to be strong because I know magiging okay lang ang lahat. Gusto ko man tumawag sa mga kaibigan ko pero ayaw ko kasi alam ko na nahihirapan din sila.

I woke up at 8 then a make up artist welcomed me because Mom ordered her. Mom was here getting ready and Dad is in his company but Mom said that Dad will be home at 9 as he promised kaya okay nalang daw. Mom help me to get ready and she apologized what happened yesterday and she felt guilty and I told her that its okay.

“Zia! Ang pretty mo.” bati ni Jeanie pagkababa ko sa car.

“Nah ikaw din bb!” I said.

“Sobrang pretty mo naman.” Allisha said after she arrived.

“Nah mas maganda kayo!” I replied.

We all gathered at the room and we just enjoyed the last moment of being grade 9. Dad call me that he’s in the gate na so I approach Dad to lead him to Mom. The program started then we all started to march.

“Zylezia C. Brosise! With High Honors!” Our principal announced and everyone clapped.

“Congrats Zia!” my friends shouted that made me shy.

I went to the stage with my Mom and Dad hearing crowds clapping and cheering. They put the three medals together and congratulated me. We waited until the program was finish. When the principal called Axe I shouted loudly and clapped, the same to all my friends.

“Ang ingay mo kanina Zia, nakakahiya.” Axe said.

“Hala supportive ako bhie tapos hindi mo naappreciate” I laughed.

“Congrats satin grade 10 na tayo!” Axe said.

“Congrats Axe!” pabebeng sabi ni Celestia kasi crush niya si Axe.

“Oy Cel napakabebe mo naman!” Allisha joked.

“Congrats din sainyo at Celestia.” Axe responded.

Close naman sila ng mga friends ko kasi si Axe ay marunong makisabay sa lahat ng bagay tapos nakakatawa pa kaya friend din sila.

“Honey let’s go na.” Mom approached us and said that we will have a celebration for my recognition.

“Mom can we invite them?” I asked because I’m sure they loved to.

“Maybe they also have a celebration? Asked them first.” Mom said.

“Sama ba kayo? Tara sama na kayo sure naman ako na mabilis lang tayo kakain.” I said.

“Sige kasi sabi ni Mama na mamayang hapon pa siya maghahanda pero nakakahiya sa Mama mo Zia.” Celestia said.

“Sama na kayo please.”  I forced them so they just said yes but they will ask permission muna sa parents nila pero all their parents agreed so we went to the car of Mom but Allisha, Axe, Feigh and Celestia went to the car of Dad.

We just eat here at the fancy restaurant because it’s just near to our school and they had to be hurry because they also have a celebration.

“Grabeh naman po ang inorder mo Uncle napakarami po.” Allisha said.

“No, eat all you can because this is just once in a lifetime.” Dad replied.

Dad bought us cake for each and everyone to have a blow for the symbol of our hard work. We’re all happy because we’re proceeding to the next grade but somebody just opened the door and shouted and thankfully tapos na kami kumain.

“Liam! Asan ka?” padabog na salita ng babae tas lumapit sa Dad ko.

“Sino po sila ate? Dad, do you know her?” I asked because nag eescandalo siya and Dad is nervous.

“Sino? Liam napakawalang hiya mo! Ngayun nag cecelebrate ka na dapat nagpa check up ako ngayon!” she said.

“Anong gusto niyo pong sabihin? Please just speak slowly and lower your voice ma’am.” Mom asked and salamat kasi wala masyadong kumain.

“Liam hindi ba alam ng kabit mo na binuntis mo ako? Sino ba to?” she said then she pointed me.

“Buntis? Liam ano bang ibig sabihin nito? Paki-explain muna Liam bago ako umalis dito. Alam kong kayo ang nauna at nararapat pero sana sa anak mo naman.” Mom said calmly while her tears was falling so I hurriedly apologize to the owner of the restaurant and to my friends who’s witnessing our family issues then Axe told me to relax.

I hurriedly went to Mom and bring her to the car because I don’t want to see my Mom crying and Axe help me. I hurriedly start the car and drove to the beach even though I don’t have a driver license but I know how to drive because Dad taught me. I know that Mom and I both love the sounds of the waves because it makes us calm.

“H-Honey….. I’m sorry” Mom said and she hugged me.

“Mom you don’t have to be sorry. It’s not our fault Mom.” I said.

“Am I not worth it?” Mom asked.

“Mom you are, you are very worth it/” I told Mom.

I wanted to cry but I don’t want to because Mom need me more. Axe called me but I didn’t answer. We just stayed today at the hotel because we don’t want to come home. There was so many questions I asked but I know I couldn’t get an answer. I wanted to ask the world why he let me experience it but I know that only Dad can answer all the questions. I thought that I wouldn’t feel this pain but look at us now. I thought na my family will remain still stronger but what happened now? Ito na nga ang kinakakatakutan ko.
