Have you ever felt like drowning in a pond but breathing at the same time? I felt the very situation when Kai ran up to me. Her eyes brimmed with tears. She was sleeping in her bed one minute and then she was running towards me, the very next. She looked terrified. She was shivering and I immediately placed my laptop down and hugged her small frame.
It's been two years. Two years since we adopted our Kai. Two years since, we have been a happy family. I rubbed her back as she sobbed in my chest and I let her cry for a few minutes. Alderic always says, it's good to cry when you feel the urge to cry. He says it helps us relieve our emotions and bottling up isn't an option in this house.
"Kai, what's the matter, little one? Did you have a nightmare, little one? Why are you crying?" I asked
