They said all the amazing things and decisions in life starts here. And now, I am getting curious about what are the decisions I should make for the future that will leave a mark in my life, especially to Vielka. Today's our first day in high school.
Lawrence and Clyde are still my classmates this year and maybe until college within this university. Our parents are the founders of the company we are managing. However, my parents hold the largest share, so they have the higher authority to decide for the company.
My parents told me that I just need to graduate before I take charge in managing the company, so I'm eager to finish my desired degree, and I hope that Vielka will eventually like me right after we graduate.
She is walking at the end of the corridor and so am I, in the other direction. On my left is Lawrence, and on my right is Clyde. Vielka's two friends are with her too.
It feels like the king and queen of this campus are walking towards each other.
We've met in the middle where our classroom is being located. Maybe she doesn't know that we're classmates again.
"Hi," I shortly greeted her and her friends, but I was just looking at her- only at her.
"By the w---"
I did not finish what I wanted to say because she already entered the classroom. I just shook my head about what just happened. She suddenly became cold-hearted.
"She's playing hard to get Zach, but remember. You're Zach. Do I need to explain more?" I just smiled about what Clyde just said while tapping my shoulder.
Well, he is right. I could easily make a woman fall in love with me, but why is it not working on her?
I sighed when I remembered how everything is going. Our schoolmates are getting amazed again.
"Hey, girl. I just can't put my eyes away from him. Oh, God," I heard a girl from the other classroom giggled.
"I just smelled his perfume, and it made me shiver. Oh, my!" said the other girl.
I am certainly a famous public figure here at school. Should I blame my parents for making me this perfect? Nah.
We finally started the class by introducing ourselves with one another, though we definitely know each other already. We just do it for the sake of the new teacher.
Oh God, Vielka is so beautiful whenever she speaks.
"Close your mouth, Zach," I immediately looked at my right side. It was Clyde. I can't help myself; she's a Goddess for me.
As she sat down, she looked at me, and it made me look at my back. I thought she smiled to someone behind me. But when she noticed me, she looked at my eyes, bit her lips, and gave me a sweet smile. Just like that, I fell for her again. What the hell.
Our Mathematics lesson was being discussed by our teacher immediately. The teacher handles the two consecutive classes inside the room.
"I really hate this subject, I don't understand any single thing," complained Lawrence, but me and Clyde are enjoying this subject.
"You should listen for you to understand it," Clyde just gave him a piece of advice. I nodded at him to show agreement.
"Boys at the back, are you listening?"
We were startled when the teacher was pointing to us.
"Yes, ma'am," we answered in chorus. People who sit at the back of the room are always unlucky, or maybe because Lawrence is sitting in our row.
"Then one from you should explain it," she is really trying us as if we can't answer her question.
I looked at Lawrence being called by the teacher. He was nervous. Well, we can answer her question, but I think he can't.
"Please don't look at me," Lawrence murmured, which made me smiled.
"What are you smiling Mr. Ruiz?" the teacher asked me.
"I heard what Lawrence told you. So, stop looking at him and let him answer."
The entire class slightly chuckled on what the teacher said.
"But I think you can answer it. You mind helping him?" the teacher spoke again.
I stood, and I heard my classmates teasing each other. It sounds like they're excited to see me answering the teacher's question.
"Quiet!" the teacher exclaimed.
Oh boy, her patience is just too short. I think she became upset enough, so she just stopped me before I answer.
We were enjoying her class while Lawrence was looking on his watch back and forth. I think every five minutes. He really doesn't enjoy math classes while Clyde and I just love it.
After an hour of discussion, she dismissed the class, and we waited for the next class. We rarely look to the class schedule, so we just wait for whoever comes inside the classroom to teach us.
We wondered because our classmates just went out. I wanna go out, but Clyde stopped me.
"We must stay here. The teacher will come at any time from now. The first impression will last," Clyde said.
My friends and I, as well as Vielka and her friends, were the only students left. They were just talking while my two friends were on their cell phones.
It shocked me when Vielka suddenly stood up and walked towards us.
"Do you guys want to go out and eat? We have a quick break before our Science class."
I directly looked at Clyde, and he smirked, for he heard Vielka spoke.
"How about you?" I asked Vielka. She won't go to our seats just to tell this. Maybe she really wants to ask me out.
"Let's eat!" I was shocked by what she just said.
"Are you asking me out?" I asked her out loud because of the excitement I am feeling right now.
"I'm just asking you to come with me and eat because you look hungry and that might affect your studies. Don't be too happy," her explanation just made me smile. What the hell. I love it when he smiles back.
"Are you coming or not?" I rushed to follow her and leave both of our friends in the classroom when she suddenly started walking away.
"By the way, why are you asking me to come with you?" I directly asked her when I ran after her.
"Just walk, Zach," she said, still walking fast.
We arrived at the university dining hall, and she ordered food for the two of us.
"Take this, Zach, and let's go to that enormous tree," she said while pointing to the tree. That tree is visible inside the dining hall.
As we walked out, I can't think of any reason why she smiled at me after she introduced herself to the class. Maybe I'll ask her once we get to the tree.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Um... you're going to h-hit the rock, so um... I am just trying to move you to the other side," I stuttered, and she chuckled. It's cute.
"I can see it, Zach. You should take care of yours---"
"Ouch!"
I painfully exclaimed because my foot hit the rock I was talking about, and it caused me to fall.
"See?" she offered her hand to lift me up. This is so embarrassing.
We settled down the enormous tree. We sat and started to talk.
"I'm curious, why did you ask me to eat with you? I didn't believe on what you said earlier, and I didn't even know we have a break before the next class. I even wondered why our classmates just went out immediately," my first question to her because I was really curious but also glad.
"You should sometimes check your schedule," she said, chuckling while opening her food.
"By the way, it's actually my friends’ dare," she followed and started eating her food.
I thought she liked me too, but yeah, why would I think about that?
"Don't be sad Zach, we can be friends. I'll be your friend. If that's what bothers you," she said immediately when she noticed my mood just changed.
"You won't consider my feelings for you?" I asked, looking at her.
"Look, Zach. I still can't involve myself in an intimate relationship because I need to take care of my grandma. You know. She doesn't have enough strength to work for us two," she answered. Well, she's definitely right.
Then I remembered what happened on our graduation day.
"By the way, how about your grandma? Is she okay? I can't visit her at the hospital because my dad is too busy with his work to send me there," I said.
"It's fine. The nurses are taking good care of her either," she said.
The school bell rang, and she immediately stood up, brushing her school skirt from being messed up upon sitting.
She offered her hand to me in order to help me stand up, but I refused. I think I need to stay here for a while.
"You can go first. I want to stay here for a while. I'll follow after," I said smiling, and she bid goodbye.
What are the things I should do to get her? Things that could help her fall in love with me. I need an ear to her life. I came up with an idea, and I also started to walk back to the classroom.
