Sophia's POV
First we had to share a room and now, I get to see him shirtless everywhere I turn.
He sat there on his phone, his full chest open for the world to see, it irked me.
"Can you try putting a shirt on? I'm not a fan of your nudity." I said sitting on the couch.
"Sorry." He said and pulled a shirt over his head.
I was tired, tired because last night, I could barely sleep knowing he was sleeping some distance away from me.
"What do you want to do today dear wife?" He asked smirking.
"I'm not your wife, not here when I'm alone with you, the earlier you stop playing around the better, this isn't funny and it wouldn't be for the next one year."
"Okay, we have an interview by 10AM, I'll send the driver to pick you up, make sure you're ready before then." He said and walked out of the room.
"Make sure you're ready before then." I mimicked him.
He was bossy, too bossy for someone who went on his knees and begged me to marry him.
I sat down on the bed, my mind going back to all that had happened the previous day.
"Don't be a pawn in his dirty game." His uncle had said while we were dancing, after probing him for the meaning, he had refused to explain.
Something was definitely up and no matter how much I tried to think about it, I couldn't come up with anything.
My phone beeped beside me, I picked it up to see the caller, it was my Dad.
"Hey Dad, how are you?" I asked as I stood up to bring out my outfit for the day.
"Very well daughter, I'm going to see his lawyer now, so we can finalize the handing over process or whatever it's called, your sister has refused to offer any assistance since last night, she locked herself in her room and I know it has something to do with her not being the one getting married to him, kids."
I was glad he also knew Henna so well, she would throw tantrums for the most random things.
"Okay Dad, I'm glad you're working on it, I'll be out for today, I have an interview with him, so there's a high chance I wouldn't be with my phone."
"Okay Sweetie, I know I have said this too many times but I have to repeat it again so you know I don't take your efforts for granted, I'm really grateful for what you have been doing for me, I know I've not been a responsible father, I seriously don't know what I did to be this lucky to get a daughter like you. Thank you very much Sophia and I promise you, I have left gambling, I'm not going back to that dark hole, I won't disappoint you." He said, I could hear the remorse in his voice.
"It's fine Dad, we'll come out of this strong."
"I promise you, if he dares hurt you, I'll throw everything and come there to rescue you."
"Thank you." I said and ended the call.
The tears finally dropped on my laps as I ended the call.

"Are you really going to wear this?" He asked eyeing my dress.
I looked at myself again but still didn't understand what he was talking about.
"What's wrong with my Dress?" I asked confused.
"Lacks taste." He said and opened the car "Get in."
We drove for some minutes before he eventually packed in front of a mall.
"What are we doing here? I thought the interview was starting 10 minutes ago?"
"Was supposed to, they'll wait, I don't want you looking like this in front of everyone."
"Like what?"
"Like this, homeless." He said without sparing me a glance.
I held my dress to control my burning rage.
"What do you mean homeless, this is what I have been wearing, who do you think you are to judge it according to your taste? Do you think we couldn't afford a good life just because you are in possession of my father's company and I have to be here with you to get it back?"I asked angrily.
"That's not what I mean, you're my wife now and even if what you're wearing is a designer dress, it won't be what everyone would want to see on my wife."
"Everyone? Well you can tell them I'm not your wife."
"Don't start that now, you don't want to see how I can get when I'm pissed."
"Are you threatening me? Will you take everything from my father if I don't do as you say."
He rubbed his hair in frustration "that's not what I mean, you can't wear this in there, your dress is beautiful but it can be more."
"Same thing, same thing Bran. Don't try to–" I couldn't complete my statement, his lips were on mine, silencing me.
He didn't stop, his tongue gained entrance into mouth.
"You talk too much Sophia." He said breaking the kiss.
I stared at him frozen, my lips tightly shut, his expression said nothing, it wasn't our first kiss but this time, something was different.
Maybe the way his tongue glided into my mouth or the fact that I wanted more but I was sure I wasn't thinking right.
My phone beeped, I finally felt like I was released from a spell, it was my Dad.
"Hey Dad." I said clearing my throat and avoiding his eyes.
"Sophia, I couldn't get the company, He lied, I went through all the process he asked me to, only to get to final stage and realized the document I signed at the company was to give all the rights to his company, his company now owns ours, it's all over the news that I gambled the company away." My father said crying.
The phone dropped from my hand as I struggled to breath, this wasn't happening.
