The truth?

Nancy and I went inside my room she sat me down on the bed and told me in a very serious tone… “Aremina we thought you died”… at first I found it ridiculous but judging from her look and what I experienced I couldn’t be so sure. She continued “you were trying to prove that carol was lying and, you picked up the orb and suddenly you fainted with the orb in your grasp and everyone gathered around you but, when you didn’t wake for almost 5 minuets the teacher noticed that you weren’t breathing!

 So we immediately called 911 and then the paramedics came almost after 20 minuets and you still didn’t have a pulse but then suddenly you sat up and everyone was shocked!” I took me a moment to realize what had happened and how serious this was but, I felt weird about this whole experience so I told Nancy that I wanted to sleep and she understood and went home. Honestly I didn’t sleep a wink that night or better to say I couldn’t… The next day in school everyone was staring at me but no one dared to speak of what happened yesterday. Honestly their silence was so loud that it was deafening me. But I walked past all those faces and into my classroom where Nancy was sitting eagerly as if to blurt out something but when I got to her desk carol came and said “look, I admit that I was acting and what happened wasn’t really all my fault you know but still for what it’s worth I’m sorry.”

I couldn’t believe what she said for a second. I was just about to reply to her that the teacher came in and said “I know you must all be wondering about the mishap that happened at the field trip so, I wanted to clarify that as soon as this took place museum manager had rushed to me and said “as the orb is for public display so, to prevent it from getting stolen if anyone picks it up they would get an electric shock but somehow, the voltage was increased suddenly!” the teacher said “so for that the museum would be paying some compensation as they don’t want bad publicity for their museum. Aremina I have told your parents everything and your family can handle this from here so that’s all that happened now back to business everyone open your books to chapter 5.”

 As the teacher continued, I felt relived to finally know what happened but, Nancy still looked a bit disturbed so, I gave her an assuring look and told her it’s alright, I’m fine now but she whispered, “Aremina that’s not all that happened yesterday…” During break, I pulled Nancy into the restroom and demanded an explanation and she finally said “I wanted to tell you what happened but, it was too hard for me to believe as well! but I feel like you should know…” I said “SO SPILL!! WHAT IS IT?!” She said “yesterday when you fainted your whole body was cold and seemed numb but you never let go of the orb so I tried to remove it from your hand I saw it… glowing…” I interrupted her and said “w-wait-wait do you mean glowing as in the orb was glowing??” She shook her head yes and said “it glowed just for about a split second but I’m sure of what I saw and, I know we must not jump to conclusions but what if, the orb has chosen you?”
