He let her lead him down a corridor until they reached a door at the end, which Rob recognized as an elevator. Naia rang the bell to summon it, and presently the door opened. The lift took them up to B Deck where passengers already crowded the railing, yelling and waving goodbye to the people remaining on the docks. “Why are we here?” he asked, having to raise his voice in order to be heard over the din. “It’s tradition!” she replied, smiling as she waved her arm above her head. “But we don’t know anyone down there.” She pouted slightly. “Don’t be an old fuddy-duddy.” Rolling his eye, he gave a few half-hearted waves of his hand.
