Naia rolled over in the small bed. Instinctively, she used her ears to listen for any sound that could be a possible threat, but all she detected was deep breathing coming from the other side of the cabin. Peeling her eyes open, she saw it was still dark outside, but the shadowy figure sitting across from her was clearly visible.
“You couldn’t sleep either?” she softly asked.
“Too much on my mind.”
She yawned and threw off the cover. The room was getting stuffy. “What time is it?”
“Little after four a.m.”
“Have you slept any at all?
“Don’t worry about me.”
“I can’t help myself. Any idea yet what our next move should be?”
