He said, "Oh love, she's busy with something at the moment, so she asked me to pick you up instead since I didn't have patients to attend to today."
I was satisfied with the answer because Mom was always free, and Dad was always spending time at the hospital. That's why I called Mom instead.
We got home, and Dad dropped me off on the porch so he could pack his car in the garage; he said he'd bring my bag upstairs, and I agreed.
As soon as I opened the front door, a pack of confetti was poured on me. Before I realized what was going I felt someone pulling me in for a hug; it was Vile Mahone, my best friend.
I didn't hesitate to hug him back because I had missed him so much. He was about to strike up a conversation with me when Mom screamed, "Surprise!" I felt so emotional and ran to hug her; I missed her so much; she hugged me back and then kissed my forehead.
Vile's parents were also present; Mrs. Mahone was holding a cake with the description, "Welcome home, Nat." it was a warm experience I'd never forget.
The Mahones stayed for a few hours, and over for dinner, we talked about a lot of things: how college treated us, the friends we met, the places we visited, the dishes we tried out, and all of that. It was a heartwarming sight to see. After dinner, they were about to leave. I walked Vile to the front door and bid him goodbye.
He would have stayed over but we both just came back and needed to unpack and rest. After kissing Mom and Dad good night, I went upstairs to my room, so I could shower and sleep with the thought of spending the whole day tomorrow with Vile.
I called Sarah to check up on her and also tell her about the experience I had today.
Me: Hi Sarah, what's up?
Sarah: Hi Nat, nothing much, just laying in bed.
How are you doing?
Me: I'm doing super well by the way, thank you.
You won't believe what happened today!
Sarah: Oh! I'm listening.
Me: My family and the Mahones threw me a
Welcome-back party. It was so planned,
I could not sense it at all.
Sarah: Oh, that's cool; I'm glad it was fun. I faced
-timed my family though.
I was really happy to see them after a long time.
Me: Well I'm happy we both had a good time, I'll
call soon to hear from you. Bye, Sarah.
Sarah: Bye Nat.
After speaking to Sarah, I dropped my phone and slept comfortably.
The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed and energized. I jumped out of bed and began getting ready for the day, eager to see Vile and start our adventures together.
When I finally made it downstairs, my mom was already cooking breakfast in the kitchen. The smell of bacon and eggs filled the air, making my stomach growl with hunger.
"Good morning, sweetie," my mom said, smiling at me. "I'm making your favorite. How are you feeling today?"
"I'm feeling great Mom, thanks," I replied, taking a seat at the table. "I'm excited to spend the day with Vile," I said, smiling.
My mom smiled and handed me a plate of food. "I'm glad you're excited," she said. "You two have been apart for a while, and I'm sure you'll have a lot to catch up on."
I took a bite of my breakfast, savoring the flavors and textures. It was going to be a great day, and I was grateful to the people in my life who made it all possible.
As we finished breakfast, I helped my mom clean up the kitchen, then I headed upstairs to grab my phone and send Vile a text. "Hey, what's up? Ready to hang out today?" I typed away, eager to hear back from him.
Vile responded almost immediately. "Yeah, I'm ready. What did you have in mind?"
I thought for a moment, trying to decide what we should do. "How about we grab lunch at that new sandwich shop downtown?" I suggested.
"Sounds good to me," Vile replied. "I'll meet you there at 12:30."
I smiled, feeling excited about our plans. I spent the rest of the morning lounging around the house, watching TV, and talking to Mom.
At 12:30, I headed out the door, eager to meet Vile at the sandwich shop. The sun was shining, and the air was crisp, making me feel alive.
When I arrived at the sandwich shop, Vile was already there, sitting at a table by the window. He smiled when he saw me, and I felt a flutter in my chest.
We spent the next hour catching up and enjoying our lunch. We talked about everything from college to music, and I told him about Sarah, and he told me about Lukas.
After lunch, we decided to take a walk around the city. The sun was shining, and the air was fresh, making it a perfect day for a stroll.
As we walked, we talked about our plans for the future. Vile was thinking about graduate school, and I was considering different career paths.
We walked for hours, enjoying the scenery and each other's company. It was a perfect day, and I felt grateful for my friendship with Vile.
As the sun began to set, we decided to head back to my house. We spent the evening watching TV and playing games.
It was a wonderful day I spent with Vile. We had a lot of fun together, and I was already looking forward to our next adventure.
As the night drew to a close, Vile said goodbye and headed home. I watched him go, feeling happy and content.
I spent the rest of the evening relaxing and unwinding. It had been a great day, and I felt glad for the people in my life who made it all possible.
As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but think about the adventures that lay ahead. I was excited to see what the future held, and I knew that with friends like Vile by my side, we could do anything.
