Oscar's POV Room service arrived right on schedule—grilled chicken and steamed vegetables. Predictable. Bland. But still better than anything else on the hotel’s questionable menu. The tray clinked gently as the waiter placed it on the table, and just as he turned to leave, I noticed something tucked beside the plate. A sealed envelope. I frowned. No return address, just a single fold and a wax seal already broken. Curious. Tearing it open, I pulled out one sheet of thick paper. Five words, scrawled in large, heavy writing: “Leave the girl alone or I will kill you.” I stared at it for a second, then burst out laughing. Well, well.
