Chapter 4

2119 Words
A girl with silver hair and emerald eyes lived in the heart of the country. She was the daughter of a poor baron from the capital and have locked up her emotions that someday, she may open them to the one she truly love. Being indifferent towards the three male leads existence, they were captivated by the young heroine at the party held by countess Sinclair. So, if they started to grow feelings for her at the party then there would be no way for them to stray far from the plot. Choosing Countess Sinclair's invitation to attend to was the right choice, even though I had to act sick to go home early, I found out lots of interesting things that were not written in the novel. I learned that there are currently 3 high ranking politicians that are very influential to the state's affair and one of them were responsible for putting the current duke of Hendel in his position. If that's the case, then there's no doubt that one of them or even all of them were responsible for the m******e of my household. Memorizing the nobility of the capital before I came here was the best decision I made. The identity of the three politicians, even though they didn't name them at the party, I already know just from the assets they possess that I found out at the same party. If I want to bring them down, I have to make strong connections. Like the three male leads. However, seeing how the male leads are still kids, this means it's only the introduction. The real plot starts when they all have grown up and have a very notable impact in society. Sekihan Findorr gray hair, womanizer, the crown prince's distant cousin, and a very influential duke in the future. Because of his intellect, he inherited the Findorr dukedom at the age of 18. Because of the female lead's cold attitude towards him, he grew interest and invested in pursuing her as she is the first girl to ever act cold towards him. Benjamin Veston red hair, childish, the crown prince's most closest friend, and the future captain of the dragon knights. Being the youngest captain of the famous elite knights, has made it difficult for him to establish dominance. Nevertheless, his swordsmanship as well as the magic that comes along with his stamina has surpassed that of previous captains of the dragon knights. Because of the female lead's advices and words of wisdom to him, he became quite fond of the heroine and eventually grow feelings for her. Castel Woon blonde hair, cold-hearted, and deceitful. Losing his father and becoming the son of his older brother, twisted his heart a lot especially that he is the reason why his mother died. Surrounded by people who had motives for approaching him, finding the heroine care less about his existence made him curious of her. Eventually, he found the heroine's good nature relaxing and started to fall for her. Changing the plot would be horrible considering that the events in the novel might not happen thus making me lose my advantage. If I could help them develop their feelings further for the heroine, then being beside them wouldn't change much of the plot. It's a game of poker and having them by my side is like having a royal flush. Arista grinned while she looked through the window pane as she clenched her fist. But first, I gotta think of a way to get close to them. After all, baby steps are necessary for a rebellion that would go down in history. -- "You have improved your foreign language skills, your highness." the scholar said, complementing Castel. Damn, I can't seem to get her off my mind. Her fragance.. her pale skin.. her gorgeous hair. Every since the party, she's all I could think of. Who is she? "I'm gonna take a break." He said as he walked out of his study. He walked to the halls and stopped in the middle of the way as maids and guards passed by. When the area was clear, he moved a piece of block from the wall as a secret entrance opened. He went in as the secret door closed, walking towards the light of the tunnel. Crawling out, he was at the very back alley of the palace where the capital market resides. "The palace life can be so stressful. Isn't that right, your higness?" Arista stood with her hair tucked in her hat and wore a mask that covered her face entirely. "Who are you?" Castel said taking out his sword and pointing it at Arista. "No one in particular. But I am here to help you." "With what?" He said with his eyebrows furrowed. "The girl with silver hair, of course." Castel was shocked knowing that someone was aware of what happened at the party. "What makes you think I will trust your words?" Castel couldn't see but he felt a smirk behind the mask that Airsta wore. "Her name is Elizabeth and right about now, she's at the library to read books on the second floor, shelf no. 345." Castel couldn't utter a word. "After you're done visiting her, meet me at the capital bell tower for a deal of a lifetime." Arista said before running away from him. Unable to respond, Castel grit his teeth as he walked the other way. Why... should I trust him? He thought as he clenched his fist and started to walk towards the capital library. When he got there, he immediately went to look on the second floor at shelf 345 but when arrived, there was no one. He held his face and smirked. Who am I kidding? There's no way he would know about- "Um, could you please move? You're blocking the book I want to borrow." Silver hair.. Pale skin.. Fragile hands.. And her emerald eyes.. It's her. Castel moved away as Lizzie reached for a certain book from the upper shelf, unable to reach it, she tiptoed and slid as Castel caught her in time while the book she pulled fell on the floor. "T-Thank you." Lizzie said as Castel blushed at how close her face is to his. Lizzie stood up from his hold and picked up the book she wanted to get and started to move away from Castel. "W-Wait!" Castel called out as Marie looked back at him. "Will...Will you be here tomorrow as well?" Castel asked as Lizzie smirk leaving Castel to wonder more about her. What an odd girl.... He thought as he watched her walk away. When she was far enough, Castel snapped out. That boy. How did he know about Lizzie? The sunset beamed over the golden bell of the capital as Castel made his way round it only to find the masked boy he met earlier. "Have you confirmed that my words are absolute, your highness?" Arista said, facing the sunset. "Yes.. but ho-" "I don't tell my clients the details but if you want that girl to fall for you, you most likely need my help and my intel. Of course, everything is not free." It feels like this boy will scam me out of my money but.. this is a once in a life time opportunity to get close to Marie.. "What's in it for you?" "Since I will have to work hard to get information on the girl you like, you will owe me... for the rest of your life." She said as she faced Castel. "Are you crazy??? I wouldn't go that far for a girl!" "It's okay, your highness. I will give you a week to decide. I'll be watching from afar, so I'll be waiting here during a sunset after a week." "And what if I don't come?" "I'll take it as a sign that you declined my offer." Arista said going near Castel as the sunset complemented her eyes making them bright red. -- "Your highness! Where have you been??? Your father, the king has been looking for you!" The butler said, still catching his breath. "He's not my father." Castel mumbled as he passed by his attendants and made his way to the throne room. "you've called for me, your highness?" Castel said bowing down to the king on one knee. "I've heard you went missing in the afternoon. Where were you?" "I merely fell asleep in the courtyard, your highness." "Were you?" The king glared at Castel. "Just be sure that whatever you do, does not stain the royal family." He said with commanding tone, making Castel grit his teeth to suppress his anger. "Oh, and by the way, the duke of Hendel is here in the capital with his wife and daughter. What do you think about them when you met her at the party?" The daughter of duke Hugh, huh? "She was... just like any other noble, your highness. I don't think she would be a threat." "I see. That's good. You may return." The heir to the Hugh dukedom, huh.. An adopted street child from Hendel. But why... does her actions show that she's always been a noble.. blending in with everyone? I'll have to look into that myself. Castel thought as he walked out of the room. -- "Rose.." Arista said as she whispered outside her room's window. "Rose...?" Did she fall asleep? "Ro-" the windows swung open as Rose appeared wearing a black wig and a night gown. "My lady, what took you so long??? I was so scared the others might find out that I had to stay covered in your sheets for hours!!!" Rose said as she helped Arista get inside. "Hehe sorry.. it took so long to choose between caramel and choco." She said, showing Rose candy sticks wrapped in plastic. "Hm?" Rose tilted. "You said you always wanted to try the capital's famous stick candies." Arista smiled at Rose. "Thank you, my lady.." Rose said with teary eyes. "Ah! How did it go with his highness?" Rose asked as she helped Arista changed into her clothes. "Well, I expected he wouldn't agree so suddenly to it." Arista said as Rose combed her hair. "Well, it's not like I didn't anticipate this to happen. Rose, proceed to the next step tomorrow. We can't waste a single day." Arista said as she sat on her bed. "As you wish, my lady." Rose said leaving the Arista's room. She walked to her bed chamber and placed the candy at the side table of her bed. "Lady Arista... to think that you still remember my sister's wish to taste stick candies." It was a very shocking news to me and my mom after we found out the deaths of my dad and my younger sister. We were very devastated, living everyday like walking vegetables but when we visited the burnt down mansion, we saw no bodies inside so we started to get worried and roamed around the area.. when we found lady Arista by the graves of the Yoldi household, with a pale of water most likely from the nearby river and ate fried frogs as if she hasn't eaten in years. She didn't look bothered or sad. When she looked at us her eyes... they were not bright red as the people told.. they were b****y red as if she is hungry not for food, but for the drive to kill. My mom probably thought the same, too and decided that we take her in. Everyday, she would go out to the city and come back beaten up but she always came back with something in her hand. A newspaper. So, one day, I asked her why she would get into fights just to obtain newspapers when they are only filled with gossip. 'The words of the mass aren't just gossip. They are useful information for a plan I'm about to do.' 'What plan?' 'Rose.. how would you like to avenge your sister and father?' At that time, I thought I had forgotten the pain and suffering... but the moment she asked me, my blood boiled and my hands tremored. Yes. I want revenge. Revenge for my loving father and my beloved sister. After that day, I applied at the Hugh manor which lady Arista asked me to do. Up 'til now, I thought I only wanted revenge.. but honestly.. right now, all I want is for lady Arista to be at peace. Being haunted by the same dream every night and blaming herself for what happened, nothing grew on her heart but resentment. I hope one day, lady Arista achieves her goals.. and can finally live according to her happiness.
