Athena's POV: I entered the campus with a sense of defiance, despite Damon’s threats lingering in my mind. He had warned me not to show my face here again, but I wouldn’t let him control me.  As I made my way through the gates, I whispered under my breath, "What can he possibly do today? Maybe he'll try to take the ring again."  My fingers instinctively brushed the chain around my neck, where the ring hung securely. I smirked, feeling proud of myself. He wouldn’t be getting his hands on it this time. Adjusting the straps of my shoulder bag, I suddenly heard the roar of a car engine—fast, too fast. The sound grew louder, and when I turned around, my heart nearly stopped. Damon’s car was speeding straight toward me. I froze, my legs refusing to move. The realization hit me like a punch
