Chapter 15
The strange man sneered at Princess Aria and restored her powers. She gasped, sitting upright. The strange man walked away; he had things to do.
"Jeff, untie me," Aria said, her voice urgent.
Jeff untied her mouth. "Aria, what happened? Has no one come for us yet?" Aria asked, feeling wronged.
"I don't think anyone knows that we've been kidn*pped," Jeff replied.
As the strange man walked through the forest, he heard a sound. Someone stepped on a tree branch. He turned around and saw a masked man.
"You have trespassed," the strange man said. "This is my territory."
"I'm aware of where I am and who you are," the masked man replied.
The strange man stared at him, taken aback by the man's audacity. He didn't like him.
"I'm here for the people you've kidn*pped," the masked man said.
The strange man smiled, intrigued. It seemed this man had received the letter he pinned on the walls.
"Are you from Eryndor or Zorek?" the strange man asked.
The masked man became extremely quiet. The strange man looked at him keenly, waiting for an answer. Had he suddenly become dead?
"I'm from Eryndor," the masked man replied.
The strange man rolled his eyes. If he was from Eryndor, it meant he was only human, just like that servant Jeff. Humans were of no use to him.
"Right this way, your highness," the strange man said, bowing.
As soon as the masked man moved forward, he felt weak and dizzy. He knew the strange man had done something to him. He fell down unconscious.
The strange man spat on his feet, feeling disgusted. He needed to tie him up with the others.
"Who's that?" Jeff exclaimed as the strange man carried someone on his shoulders.
The strange man threw the masked man on the floor and tied him close to them.
"I don't know who this is," the strange man said. "I'm about finding out myself."
He took off the man's mask, and his expression turned indifferent. "Do you know who this is?" he asked Jeff without looking at him.
Jeff knew who he was but didn't know if he should tell the strange man. "I don't know him," Jeff said.
The strange man looked at Jeff coldly. "Well then, he'll be the first to die."
"No, no, no, please," Jeff said. "I mean I do know him. He's a nobody, a servant just like me. I said I don't know him because he bullies me all the time. He's very valuable, even more than I am."
The strange man put his dagger back into his pocket. He needed to keep an eye on the prince. He pulled out an eye, and Jeff gasped.
"Oh my God!!"
"I can do that too," Aria said, her voice laced with sarcasm. "Show off, creep."
The strange man's eyes flew in the air, following the direction of the village where Prince Anderson walked fearfully.
The forest was large, with many boundaries. Some boundaries were filled with traps, magical traps, while others were easy to cross.
Anderson stood sweating, his blonde hair now filled with green leaves from tree branches. He swallowed as he stood staring until someone noticed him.
"Mom!!" Reah exclaimed, running off to call out to her mother.
Anderson stared at them, realizing that not a single man lived there. The women were not even dressed.
"Stop there!!" the Head Guard shouted.
Prince Anderson stopped immediately, his eyes scanning the environment. He saw girls dressed like soldiers aiming at him from tree tops. One move, and he might not go back home alive.
"This part of the world is meant for the witches only," the Head Guard said. "You don't smell or look like one of us."
"Listen, I'm not here for trouble," Prince Anderson said, dropping his sword on the ground slowly while kneeling.
"So many people have gone missing in my kingdom," he explained. "I'm just here to find a solution to that."
The women stared at one another, and the Head Guard looked at her daughter Reah, who nodded.
"Give me your sword," the Head Guard said. "Only then will you see the queen."
Reah smiled. "Give him a bath; he smells and looks like a pig."
Prince Anderson blushed, wondering if he was going to be washed by these beautiful ladies. They all looked at him, eager to do their job.
"I am a grown man, and I can take a shower myself, thank you for considering," Prince Anderson said. "All you have to do is show me the bathroom."
The women showed him the bathroom made of leaves. Anderson sighed and got in, hearing them gossiping outside.
When he stretched out his hand, he couldn't find his clothes. One of the ladies had taken them, and he saw her wearing them, grinding.
Anderson sighed, feeling frustrated.
"Sam, give him back his clothes," the Head Guard said. "Don't trouble him."
She threw his clothes into the bathroom, and he wore them. For the first time in weeks, Prince Anderson wore the same clothes, all because he wanted to find Jeff.
"Can I meet the queen now?" Prince Anderson asked.
The Head Guard nodded and directed him in.
"You're the queen of this place, I saw you out there just now," Prince Anderson said.
Reah smiled. "I am not the queen; I am the princess. My mother was killed many years ago."
Prince Anderson felt sorry for her, and his gaze fell.
"I was the one who killed her," Reah said, her voice cold.
Prince Anderson jumped to his feet, watching her laugh like a mad woman. The Head Guard shivered in her bones.
"I killed everyone in my family, just to become the princess," Reah said. "Once I become 18 years old, you can address me as Queen."
Prince Anderson's heart skipped a beat. Had he made a mistake by coming here?
"How may I help you?" Reah asked, her eyes fixed on him. "What are you - a sorcerer, wizard, shape-shifter?"
The Prince found himself in a dilemma. She didn't mention human. If he was human, was he in trouble? Reah stared at him, her eyes not blinking for one second. Prince Anderson was lost in thoughts, searching for an answer.
