Vera soon found herself easily getting back into the swing of flying and dropping bombs over enemy soldiers every few minutes. She was grateful that the sub-zero weather was gone, and that spring had finally arrived. However, along with spring came the rains and winds. One morning the night bombers returned to their dugouts to grab their much-needed sleep. No sooner had they all fallen onto their plank beds when one of the mechanics raced into their quarters screaming for them to get up.
