Blake smiled at Mia as their eyes met. Mia immediately dropped her eyes down. Blake suddenly looked nervous and shifted from one leg to another. Mia, I know you have had a long day and that so much has changed in the space of a few hours for you. But I must ask you a few questions about your herritage as tomorrow will be your first shift.
How much do you know about your families bloodline? "Mia shook her head and said I'm embarrassed to say nothing at all, Everything I thought I knew about my family was wrong. Lyra told me a few hours ago that I was stolen as a pup. My adopted mother died in a Rogue attack when I was 12. The rest of my fake family were all Alpha wolves. But on my 12th birthday i radiated an omega aura, and my brothers made sure I knew I was nothing to them after that. Im still in shock, to be honest. I dont even know if Mia is my real name. My whole life was a lie. " As she choked back a sob, she looked directly into his eyes."Why kidnap me. I don't understand, im no one, nothing an Omega. My fake pack didn't even like me. Why bother just to treat me as a slave."
Woah, hold on. Firstly, you are incredible. You are not, nor will never be, nothing. What do you mean your pack didn't even like you and treated you as a slave? "I dont know Alpha Blake." I just guessed I wasn't good enough.Omegas are nothing in my pack. Mia put her hands around her shoulders and curled her legs up, and started rocking back and forth.
Blake frowned, then spoke softly. You have had a lot to take in for today. Would you like to take a walk around the grounds. I can show you where you will have your first shift.I find nature relax's me and Floyd, and it's almost 8 pm. You slept most of the day.
Mia nodded she always loved nature and had felt safe with Blake. He placed a jacket around her shoulders, taking her out the back door. She wasn't strong enough to meet the pack yet, and even with her wolf now healing her physical injuries. She was very frail, and clearly, she had mental trauma from her past.
Mia, do you feel like you would like to talk to anyone to help you process anything. Things you don't feel ready to share with me. We have some pack councillors that can really help. Thank you Alpha um yes that would be good. I think I need to. She brushed past Parker on her other side and immediately flinched. She knew she wasn't in danger as she was with Blake. But it had always been her body's reaction. She found it hard to trust as even her family had betrayed her. After her mother died her father's heart had darkened. He changed towards me and nothing I did was ever right. slowly he began to hate me blaming me for my mothers death. I never understood why.
Mias mind flashed back to an incident in her past. Her mind often replayed her memories, making her relive her past traumas. Her brothers often played mind tricks, making her think they were on her side or going to help her only to betray her for their own amusement or for their own individual needs to gain their fathers favour.
She was in the cellar as usual, sitting on her old cot rocking forward and backwards hugging her knees. It was past midnight, and she had finished all of her chores. Her brother Ivor had told her to come and eat some leftovers. He had managed to sneak from their dinner earlier that evening. He whispered to her in a gentle tone, reassuring her that the coast was clear and that he could no longer be part of her torment. He said how she was his little sister and reminded him of their mum before she passed and how it was the grief that blinded him. He played his part so well that she had even started to console him. Eventually, Mia went with him and started to eat hungrily. Ivor even went to warm some milk for her. He promised to help her escape and even got her an additional blanket. This went on for the next few days. Finally, he had stolen the keys to the back door to the house and had given her some money and helped her to make it outside. When she got outside, he raised the alarm, and her father had caught her, whipped her, starved her and increased her working hours, and stopped her from going outside for a month. Of course, he rewarded her brother. How could someone be so cruel.
Mia Mia, wake up wake up. Please wake up. Mia opened her eyes and felt her nose dripping it was happening again. Every time she had a trauma flashback, her nose would bleed, and she would pass out. Blake gave her some tissues, pain, and concern evident on his face. "Mate hurt," growled Floyd. Blake held her hand and called the nurse Violet back. She came rushing out and held some tissues to Mia's nose. Then, she held her head up. The bleeding lasted only a few minutes, but this was not usual for wolves. Their animal counterpart usually healed them almost instantly. (This girl was getting more intriguing by the moment).
Blake spoke first to break the silence. Do you want to sit for a while and get some fresh air ? We can see the grounds tomorrow if you are not up to it. Mia nodded, sitting down on the small bench. You look exhausted, I think it might help us both sleep better if I stay in your room with you tonigh. Floyd needs to be close to Lyra. Mia looked shocked and stuttered. Um Alpha Blake. Blake quickly held his hands up and exclaimed " on the sofa, of course." Mias shoulders relaxed, and she whispered, "Sure, I guess."" Lyra cheered in her head. Mate cares for us.
They made their way back inside, and Blake led her to his room. It was on the top floor, so thank the goddess their were lifts at every entrance. It reminded her of the way her books had described a shopping mall. large staircases leading at the east and west side of the building. The Pack Hospital was on the first floor, so they had only needed to walk down a few stone steps outside of the hospital exit to reach the forest. This time, the lift stopped on every floor, and the staircases looked like they went on forever. Good job they were shifters and had physical endurance.
