Time Goes On

Sophie and I were back at our apartment, the last two weeks had flown by. She was finished with everything but was going to work a little more at the coffee shop she had been working at during school. She was training her replacement and helping out the sweet little couple that owned it. We were getting ready to head back to our packs this weekend, Sophie had been going back on the weekends to her pack but I was working on extra training so I had been staying.

On the way home Dad called to let me know there may have been a plumbing mishap at our house, and it really was not inhabitable for the weekend. He was taking mom out for the weekend as a way of apologizing for trying to be a plumber. He let me know to go stay at Johnathan and Nikolai's house for the weekend. I loved Johnathan and his cooking. Mom said he had been a little lonely since Nikolai was away at school and training. Comedy movies and snacks were in my future for the evening. It sucked not seeing my parents, but Johnathan was a close second, and I was moving home soon so I would see them all the time. Once we arrived, he had the door open before I even made it up the sidewalk and was mixing a big bowl of caramel popcorn. It was going to be a very good night indeed. I left Sophie to take my truck home. She was coming back to pick me up Sunday afternoon to head back.

Johnathan had the grill fired up with a couple steaks, while I put some sides together for dinner.

“Are you ready for Elite Warrior testing?” Johnathan asked.

“I’m as ready as I can be. There were only six of us that ended up completing the course and two of them are awesome, so we have fun running the testing courses. I’m hoping we can keep that mentality going during the actual test. We have a warrior named Katya and she will be top of the class. None of us can beat her. Then there are two that are pretty evenly matched with me Luna JoAnne and Lindsey” I said.

“I’ve seen Katya in action. She is impressive. I have not met Luna JoAnne yet, but Lindsey's downfall will be her attitude. She is Jamie’s younger sister, and they seem to be cut from the same cloth. Both are gifted warriors, but they have crap for personalities”, Johnathan concluded.

“Oh, that makes so much sense now. I did not realize who Lindsey’s family was. She barely talks to me, so I had no idea” I said contemplating some interactions that I had with her. "JoAnne met her mate not long ago, Alpha Damien and I am so glad he is encouraging her to complete the course. She has trained hard, I just love her."

“Either way you will do great, just focus and let your muscle memory guide you” Johnathan said kissing the top of my head as he walked by putting the dishes in the sink. “Now for the real fun to begin, we are going to watch Dracula Dead and Loving It!” He said laughing.

“One of my all-time favorites!” I exclaimed, jumping up.

By the end of the movie, I was completely in a food coma. I bypassed the guest room to sleep in Nikolai’s bed. We continued to text and flirt throughout these last couple of weeks. The flirting was getting hotter and hotter, if I did not see that man soon my body may erupt into flames. His bed smelled like fresh rain and the forest just like him. I sent him a good night text and went to sleep. I knew he was working on a project late tonight.

We were all exhausted dragging ourselves back into the apartment, death by boring power point is what today was. I was glad it was the weekend. Everyone was debating going home for the weekend, but we were to tired to even talk about it tonight. I needed to call my Dad in the morning and ask him to go over a couple of policy questions I had. The council is meeting with us the next two to three weeks. They said if we power through the next two weeks we can be done and not have to sit through the third week. With the Full Moon coming everyone wants to be home for the mating ball anyway so the entire class agreed to push through.

I made it up for breakfast at a decent time even though I slept like the dead last night. My dad called me on facetime while I was getting ready. He was sitting at the kitchen table with his usual cup of coffee and a smug smile on his face. I don’t know what has the old man in such a jolly good mood, but he wants to go ahead and answer our questions while we eat breakfast. I propped the phone on the table where Matthew and Jamison were sitting and grabbed a plate of food. As I sit down I see a very feminine hand slide a plate stacked with breakfast in front of my dad. The three of us pause in shock while I lift an eyebrow at my dad. He never has women stay over at the house so something must be going on. “Company?” I smirked.

“Late night” he said smiling into the camera “You know I have rules about overnight guest, so I just had her stay in your room”

“What the Hell! Why are you letting your stranger hook up stay in my room? Seriously we have a guest room for some unknown reason use it!” Great now I have to wash everything in my room its going to smell like who knows what. All Dad is doing is laughing while Jamison and Matthew watch in confusion. I see a small hand slide over my dad’s shoulder and a mane of red curls pop up behind him.

“Your Dad is really hot but probably not appropriate for me to be sleeping in his bed given everything going on.” Zy laughed. Now both of them are laughing at their joke.

“Keep it up Sunshine you are going to find out what happens” I said pointing at her.

“Promises, promises” she smirks before bouncing off, I can see she is wearing my favorite Metallica t-shirt cheeky girl.

“So you boys had some questions about policy for me?” Dad asked getting back on track.

After our breakfast Question and Answer session with Dad, we decided to go over everything that needs to happen in the next two weeks so we can be done with all of this. I know all of our dads are ready to retire. Feels like these last two months have been the longest part of our journey so far. It took most of the day to go over everything, and we were still pretty tired so we just sat lounging about after dinner. Jamison was on his phone texting, lost in his conversations with Lucas. Being the only one mated, I am sure it has been hard on both of them having to go back and forth the last three months while we finished training. After hearing Jamison sigh for the hundredth time, I jumped up. “Let’s go home man, I’m driving. Matthew want to go?” I asked while watching Jamison gather his stuff at a fast pace.

“Nah, I have some entertainment here for the night” he laughed. He and Mitchell I’m sure had plans to go to the club. Being single alpha males they had no shortage of women. Joseph usually went to the club with everyone as well. He does not seem to be too faithful to his current girlfriend. Not sure how I feel about his loyalty to our alliance if he isn’t loyal to his soon-to-be-chosen mate. He talked to me for a while the other day, he could not grasp how I had fallen so hard for Sunshine in such a short amount of time. The only way I could describe it is she lit up my world like a warm sun rising after a dark and cold night. I was finally able to breathe with her and my heart felt complete.
