I woke slowly this morning breathing in her scent. She had a tinge of the forest mixing with her scent now. The cubs were growing quickly, it seemed. I let Timber take over but stayed in human form as we watched her sleep and tuned in to listen to the little fluttering heartbeats for a long while this morning. She was almost exactly two months along now, our little beans were growing.
"I can feel you staring at me" came her sleep-filled voice.
"So beautiful, my sunshine" Timbers' husky voice rolled at her before he let me have control back. "We can't help it." I smiled, kissing her slowly. "Do you want to invite all the parents over for dinner tonight? I am sure Dad will have a bit of an adjustment period with just training to take care of now."
