A Call To Answer

chapter 6(A solution)

★CASTLE ZIRCON★

Three men were kneeling on the ground pleading for mercy.One of them was in tears already.His body trembling in fear.

The masked man seated on a throne-like seat stood up.His bloodshot eyes could be seen shining like fire.His claws were sharp and looked like the tip of a fiery dart.His fangs looked like a piercing needle.It was emitting few drops of blood.

“Please your highness,have mercy on us”One of the men on their knees trembled as he pulled back in fright.

The masked man paid no attention to his pleas.He took three steps further and grabbed the man's neck.The man choked in fear while the remaiming two, watched in horror,what the masked man was about to do.

In a blink of an eye,the masked man had bore his left hand into the chest of the man in his hold,ripping his heart apart.The man in his grip died instantly and the masked man sucked on his blood hungrily.

The remaining two, stared at each other in horror. Oh no,the door was already bolted from the outside and there was no way they could escape.

Just like the masked man had read their minds,he dropped the lifeless body of the man in his grip, on the ground and turned to the remaining two.Their heartbeats stopped immediately.

“I'm dead”One of them muttered in despair as the masked man stared hungrily at them.He got hold of the two at once ripping their hearts off like they were some linen and he sucked on their blood.

★MEANWHILE★

Queen Dominika's mouth was covered with her hand as she watched her son suck on the blood of those men.Tears brimming in her eyes.Her child is a vampire,one she's never thought of encountering in her life.He's been like this since the day he clocked seven and only her,Easton and the king knew about this.

They have tried many local physicians to help quench the prince's thirst for blood but they kept giving the prince,treatments that only exacerbated his condition. The king had given up on the prince and had locked him up in a large room also known as the forbidden room for seventeen years now.

The prince is twenty four years now but his thirst for blood was still intact.

When he was hankering for blood,the Queen brings to him the men from the hooverville in Castle Zircon, lying to them they were needed in the Castle to carry out some work.The innocent men would be elated that they were going to be working at the Castle which was a rare opportunity for the people from the hooverville,but in the end,never returned to their families.

Whenever the families of the men being fed to the crown Prince asked for the whereabouts of their men,the Queen would lie that the men were caught stealing and were being punished.No one questioned the queen and king so the families of those innocent men would keep shut or asking further questions would cost their lives.

Queen Dominika glanced one last time at her son who's always on a facemask,shielding his face from his family.He never wants his mother or father or Easton or even those men he feasted on to see his face.It felt as though he didn't like the person he was but was under a spell and couldn't help yearning for human blood.

Queen Dominika walked away in tears.This has to stop one way or the other.

She shuffled to her bedroom and sent for Inez,her personal maid.

Inez bowed her head immediately she arrived at the Queen's room.

“You sent for me my Queen”Inez spoke,her head was still bowed.

“You said Easton dropped by earlier in the day right?”The queen asked and Inez nodded her head vigorously.

“Go to his quarter and tell him to come see me in my chamber”Queen Dominika ordered and Inez nodded her head and exited the room.

Easton was a physician as well_the royal physician though.He lives with the king and queen in the castle but in a different quarter.

Queen Dominika sighed heavily as she recalled the event at the forbidden room.The way her son devoured those humans like they were some food.Her husband, the king,had wanted banishing him(The crown prince)from castle Zircon when he got tired of seeing innocent men being devoured by his son all in the name of thirsting for human blood,but the queen never approved of it.She couldn't let her only child be sent into the evil forest.

Queen Dominika was jolted from her slumber when she heard a soft knock on the door.She beckoned on whoever it was to come in and Inez walked in with her head bowed.

“My Queen,he's here”

“Tell him to wait at the chamber.I'll join him shortly”Queen Dominika ordered and Inez nodded her head and left.

Queen Dominika walked to the mirror to check herself.She dabbed her cheeks with some moisturizing liquid to conceal the streaks of tears glued on her face.After feeling satisfied with the way she was looking,she twirled around and swaggered out of the bedroom.

Opening the wooden door,Easton turned around to look at the queen as she walked inside.

“Greetings,her majesty”He greeted with a smile.

“With the futility of your remedies,I suppose you should know I cannot smile with you”Queen Dominika said sternly and sat on a brown wing chair_her favourite chair.She crossed her legs beneath her lengthy gown.

“Pardon my manners,my queen”Easton said apologetically.

“Sit”She ordered and Easton took a seat opposite her.

“Have you any recommendations ”She asked firmly.

Easton nodded his head vigorously. Queen Dominika rolled her eyes at him.He's probably got some more panaceas to give to her son,which keeps worsening his condition.

“What trash is it this time”She asked with an eye roll

“It isn't a trash this time my queen”Easton replied calmly.

Queen Dominika shot him a doubtful look.

This must be an original panacea, she thought but still acted like she was uninterested in what he was about to say to her.

“After the last antidote we used on the prince which turned futile,I embarked on a journey to the transcendental part of the earth,there,I met with a few astrologers and related the issue at hand to them.One of them gave me a book and asked of me to read it.I did read it,and guess what I found?”Easton beamed but Queen Dominika rolled her eyes at him_she doesn't believe him.

“My Queen, our prince can be turned back to human”
