chapter 4(Trouble)

Princess Gersemi is the first child and daughter of king Antonio the II(second).Princess Gersemi loves reading books, particularly, novels.Her love for novels is unexplainable ,but only Pearlene knew about it.

The king has a library carved out in the innermost part of the castle,so as to look up for some references when the need arises but he had no idea one of his daughters visited the library which had some secrets and spells in it.

Princess Gersemi was known for her hourglass figure,kind gesture and magnificent aura.Everyone loves to see her because of her kind gesture and beauty.Never boasts,never looks down on people.She's the exact opposite of her half-sister,Princess Jennell who's the replica of her mother ,Queen Irina.

When Princess Gersemi was a year old,her mother passed on as a result of some illness which couldn't heal.The king took another bride instantly as it was forbidden in Castle Coral to have a king without a queen.

A year later,queen Irina bore a baby girl.In Castle Coral, the law proscribes the king to have more than two kids so the King and Queen couldn't give birth to more kids and had to stick to their two daughters.

Princess Jennell punishes any maiden that talks against her and worse,have them buried alive.Her wickedness and heartlessness was known around Castle Coral, so no one liked her but never went against her orders. She's like a mini-devil.

“Princess Gersemi, we've arrived. I'll leave now”Pearlene called to Princess Gersemi's attention.

Princess Gersemi was feeling sad that she couldn't complete the novel she was reading.She never reads a book without completing it.She must finish it up,maybe not today,but some other time.Princess Gersemi made up her mind.

“When you're done thinking, you can come join us for dinner Princess Gersemi ”King Antonio said glaring daggers at her.He turned back to his meal.

Princess Gersemi sighed sadly.she sauntered to the wide table which had different delicacies of meal on it and two baskets of fruits.

She sat opposite Princess Jennell.

“Good evening His Majesty, good evening Her Majesty”She greeted the king and Queen with a perfunctory bow.

“Where have you been all day?you didn't show up for lunch Princess ”Queen Irina asked.Princess Gersemi secretly rolled her eyes at her.Why is she acting like she cares? Princess Gersemi wondered.

“I've been stuck in the garden”Princess Gersemi lied.Never will she let on her father that she visits the library in her spare time and on daily basis.

“Why do I feel that you're lying?”Queen Irina asked as she stared at Princess Gersemi suspiciously.

“Just let her be already.She's only being a drama queen.I do not blame her though ”King Antonio breathed out and glared at Princess Gersemi who chuckled silently.

“We need to get her married .Princess Jennell also needs to get married as well”Queen Irina suggested and the king nodded lightly.

Now,it was high time Princess Jennell spoke as well. Why were they involving her in Princess Gersemi's mess?

“i don't think my name should be mentioned in whatever arrangements you've made for Gersemi. I'm not ready to get married ”Princess Jennell huffed.

“My princess,it's a thing of pride to be married. I got married to the king at age twenty, your current age”Queen Irina beamed and Princess Jennell stood up abruptly.

“I'm not having this discussion with you both.you can get your darling daughter married but not me.Excuse me”Princess Jennell said and went off in a huff.

“You need to tame your daughter.She's getting stubborn everyday ”King Antonio said to Queen Irina as he stared after princess Jennell.

Princess Jennell arrived outside the castle building in anger.Why would the king and queen involve her in Princess

Gersemi's mess?

She's never even imagined settling down with a man,so why bring the goddamn topic now?.

She had no idea why,but she felt overly pissed by the Queen's suggestion.

“My princess”

A male voice intruded into princess Jennell's thoughts and she raised her head to look at the young man before her.His height was towering over her.Her eyes trailed to his exposed sinewy arms.She felt her stomach jittering already.

She's never seen this man before, perks of having hundreds of guards in the castle.

Her eyes admired his luscious lips which looks kissable.His deepest smokey eyes were capable of making her eyes get lost in it.He looks personable.

“Your... Your...”The guard stuttered as he pointed to her dress.Princess Jennell examined her dress on seeing him do that.What was wrong with her dress? She looked around her dress but didn't see any faults in it.

“What's the problem with my dress?”

“Um...your zipper.I think it's broken”

“Huh?!”Princess Jennell gasped and looked around. She caught a few guards staring at her.She shot them a death glare causing them all to bow their heads in fright.

“You idiots! I'll have your heads chopped off if you dare to raise them at me again”Princess Jennell seethed.She turned her gaze back to the guard that had told her of her broken zipper.

“Get me Dee PDQ”She ordered and strutted back inside the castle building.She took the staircase leading to her chamber.

She walked into her chamber and sat on the rocking chair beside her makeup table.Thank goodness the guard called to her attention in time, else,she would have exited the castle with a broken zipper and would have caused unnecessary attention from the villagers.

Just then,a knock came on the door and she ordered the person in,thinking it was Dee,her personal maid.

The door went open and the guard she had sent to call Dee walked in with his head bowed and arms crossed at the back.

“Where is Dee?”

“I was told she's not in the castle as at now ,my Princess ”The guard replied with his head still bowed.

Princess Jennell sighed and stared admiringly at him.Okay,why is she finding him this attractive? Yeah he's very handsome, but a mere guard shouldn't attract her.

“Um...may I leave my Princess? ”The guard asked jolting her from her thoughts.

“Yeah...no...don't leave”

The guard raised his head in surprise to look at her.Why does she want him to stay back? He thought.

Suddenly,the Princess got up from her seat and catwalked towards him.She could swear she had no idea about what she was doing.She felt spell-bound by his pulchritudinous quality.

She was now standing just in front of the guard and he lowered his gaze the more to his shoes. It was outlawed in Castle Coral to stare at a royal in the face except they were permitted to do so.

“What's your name?”She asked softly and dug her fingers into his long lustrous hair.The guard cleared his throat nervously. Why was she touching him this way?

“I asked for your name,didn't I?”She asked as she pulled closer to him.His body was just irresistible to her.How can a man be this attractive? She wondered.

“It's Logan.The name is Logan ”

“Logan”She called warmly with a smile and gently pulled down her fingers from his hair.

“Bolt the door”She ordered,pivoted around and sauntered towards her bedroom.
