Daisy's pov I was done. That was the simple and complete truth of where I was sitting as I looked across the table at Victoria Chad with her borrowed fork and her carefully placed words that were aimed to get at me. I had stood in a hallway while a girl poured juice down my dress in front of a room full of people. I had sat at the dinner table while Talia said what she said with that pleasant face and that poisoned delivery. I had walked into a courthouse that morning and faced Finn across an aisle and held myself together through every single second of it. I finished absorbing things quietly and waiting for them to pass. Victoria did not like what I said. I could see it in the way her smile had tightened at the corners and the brightness in her eyes had taken on a different quality.
