Khai's pov I stared at the wound and nothing about it made sense. The arrow was still in her chest, buried deep enough that it should have been causing serious damage with every breath she took, and yet the bleeding had stopped completely. The skin around the entry point was dry, the blood that had soaked through her shirt already darkening at the edges the way blood does when it is no longer fresh. I looked at her face.
