Finn saw them the moment they came through the doors.
He felt the anger move through him before he had even fully processed what he was looking at, his jaw was tight, and his free hand had closed into a fist at his side.
He had planned for her to come alone.
That was the version of this morning he had built everything around, Daisy walking in by herself with her lawyer and whatever courage she had managed to scrape together, and him sitting across the aisle from her with the full weight of everything he had accumulated pressing down on her from every direction.
Alone she was manageable. Alone she was a woman fighting a battle she did not have the resources to win.
But she was not alone. She was with someone very powerful in all aspects and that scared him.
