Khai's pov:
I sat at a round table with a few Alphas. The issue of rogues attacking humans has been becoming more and more of an issue lately, and we need to find a way to resolve it as quickly as we can.
But halfway through the meeting, a call came through. I stared at the screen of the phone. It was at an unknown number, yet I could sense that this was Daisy calling.
“Hello!” My voice came through as she explained her situation. I didn't care what it was. But there was no way that I was going to let her handle it all by herself.
“I am sorry, but I have to leave!” I suddenly spoke as I rose to my feet. They all looked at me with a mixture of confusion and surprise.
“Alpha Khai, this is online for you to leave in the middle of such a very important discussion.” Alpha Collins was the first to speak.
“Did something happen in your pack?” Alpha Martin chimed in. Obviously, they were all eager to know what was going on.
“Nothing happened, and, since you all know, it's unlike me. Then you must know that I must leave. This is my private matter, but I must deal with you right away.”
I spoke with finality in my tone, my eyes cold in the way they fully understood that this wasn't up for discussion.
“Shark will stay behind and feed me in on everything,” I assured them, and not wanting to hear anything else from them, I stormed out of there.
I was driving at a high speed knowing that I didn't want to keep Daisy waiting and most especially, I didn't want her to be embarrassed by anyone.
By the time I arrived at the boutique, even though I wasn't sure if I was at the right place, I walked in and as soon as I swung the door open, I was welcomed by her scent.
“Welcome sir!” One of the attendants greeted me and as soon as her eyes fell on me, she lowered her face, recognition and excitement brimmed as like she had just landed a jackpot.
“Welcome sir, we have a variety of male collections which are high-end designers, and I am certain that you are going to love them.”
She explained respectfully with a smile on her face but ignored her, my eyes trailing around the place searching for Daisy.
“Is there something you need in particular?” She asked, following the directions of my eyes.
“Where is she?” I growled out the command.
“Who are you talking about?” She asked, perplexed, but I knew that asking her would be a waste of time. While she was still trying to decipher my words, I walked past her inside the boutique.
“I wonder who you think will come to save you from this embarrassment. I think it's time that you took it. You are broke and there is no one that can save you, especially when you are barren!”
I stood behind a girl as she spoke to Daisy. Clearly, she was having fun with Daisy and the fact that Daisy was silent while she spoke made my blood boil in a rage.
“Daisy!” I called and walked to her side as she rose to her feet.
“Khai. Thank God you are here, you didn't have to come all the way here. I just needed you to send me some cash so I can pay you for my dress because I don't have……”
“That is enough Babe, you don't have to explain yourself to me or anyone else,” I spoke calmly and could see the shock in her face when I referred to her as babe.
“Mr. Khai Hart!” A voice spoke from behind as a middle-aged woman with pale skin walked up to me with a wide smile on her face.
“When I was told that you were right here in my boutique, I thought this was a lie and there is no way that the heavens will smile on me like that. I must have done something good in my previous life to have you here.”
She was practically grinning from ear to ear and her cheek had turned red.
“I didn't come here to buy anything, my fiancé was there and had issues with her card. I just came to sort it out.”
“Your fiancé!” Her eyes popped wide as she directed her attention to Daisy, who was trying to grasp what was going on with a look of amusement and confusion in them.
My gaze slowly trailed down to the girl that had banned Daisy just a few minutes ago. It was the same girl at the office that day and as my gaze locked with hers, she immediately pulled backwards, both her hands trembling.
Even though my wolf was so anxious to kill her, I knew that right now was not the time for that. I turned my attention to Daisy, a smile had formed around my lips.
“Have you gotten everything you need?” This time I walked closer to her, my hands slowly found their way around her waist.
She startled slightly, as she turned to stare at me. No doubt she clearly understood the game that I was playing.
“Yes. I have gotten everything I need. This is just fine.” She smiled back at me as I handed my card to her, but instead of handing it out to the cashier, she turned to the girl she had been bantering words with earlier.
“You were saying something Laura!” There was a smirk on her lips, but Laura didn't dare move, as both her hands were trembling and as if that wasn't enough, Daisy walked up closer to her.
“You calm down, you should know that I am just getting started soon. You and Finn will feel my wrath and know there is no way you will take what belongs to me while I am alive.”
She spoke with so much determination in her voice as she handed the card to the cashier. Once the payment had been processed and the items ready, we left the boutique.
