CHAPTER EIGHT

Khai's Pov I could barely get a wink of sleep that night because I kept getting calls about what Finn had posted, saying that I had abducted Daisy. This only showed he had no idea what I was capable of doing, and I didn't scare him as much as I should. That night. I went for a run around my space and also used the opportunity to monitor the patrol and see if they were doing their job right. I had run through almost all the territories until I was certain that I had fully exhausted myself, but even when I returned to my room, the thought didn't stop. No matter how much I had thought about the possibility of the baby surviving, I still had no clue how it was possible. She was human and there had to be an explanation else everything would be for nothing. By morning, I woke early and headed to the dining room where I instructed one of the maids to help Daisy get dressed and take her downstairs since she wasn't familiar with the house. But I sat in the dining room for long hours, the food was getting cold and there was no sign of Daisy or the maid. I couldn't wait any longer, for fear that something might have happened to Daisy or the baby. But as soon as I set foot in the room, the scene that awaited me made my wolf growl in rage. “What is going on here?” My eyes had flickered red. My wolf was so angry that he was almost trying to take over. Daisy and the maid finally noticed my presence in the room as the maid immediately rushed towards me and knelt in front of me. “Alpha! You need to do something else. There will be a problem in the pack. The girl you brought in here is addressing you by your name, and you need to have seen the way she spoke about you in such a disrespectful manner.” She went ahead to explain in a very tender manner, all the while she did, her hands and feet were already shaky. “What the hell did I just witness? Did you just slap her?” I couldn't fathom it no matter how much I thought about it, that a maid serving under my pack house would dare lay her hands on my guest. “Alpha she…..” the maid tried to explain herself, but I had lost my patience and slammed her very hard on her face. Just when she was about to recover, I slammed her hard again and again and again, until Daisy immediately rushed to my side and grabbed my arm. “That is enough Khai, you will kill her at this point.” “That is the plan. Because there is no way she is going to survive this.” “Alpha please….. Please, Princess Sarah asked me to make sure that no one ever disrespected you and I couldn't watch her talk about you like that.” She was crying profusely as she explained and once she had mentioned Sarah, I fully comprehended what was going on. Sarah had planted her as a spy here and, because of that, she thought she could walk away with this. “So Sarah had planted you here. Why did it seem like she had failed to inform you of my temper? Did you think she could save you from my wrath?” “Please…. Please, Alpha …. I was only protecting you.” “And you thought that you could raise your hand at the mother of my unborn child, you must have lost your mind thinking you would get away with it.” I barely glanced at Daisy as I lowered my head and minded Shark. He didn't waste time and in a few minutes he had appeared there, a knock on the door for courtesy and, without being summoned, he stepped in. Seeing Shark, in his very huge and intimidating height, the maid could already tell what was about to come to her as she fell to the floor, grabbing my legs. “Please Alpha, I am begging you, it was all a mistake, just this last chance and I promise you that I won't fail. Please have mercy. She cried and when she saw that all her pleads went on deaf ears, she fell in front of Daisy, hoping she would save her. But Daisy didn't dare speak, there was also fear in her eyes. “Take her away from here and make sure she dies very slowly and painfully.” “Yes Alpha,” Shark bowed his head and, without hesitation, he forcefully grabbed her and stormed out of there. “Are you okay?” I walked over to Daisy once it was just the two of us in the room, but I could hear the sound of her heartbeat. “You don't have to be scared,” I tried to assure her even though I knew that wouldn't make a difference. “Are you really going to kill her?” “Yes,” I didn't need to sugarcoat my words because I knew she had to understand what she was getting into now. “How can you get so cruel, it was just a slap, she doesn't deserve that?” “This is the world of the werewolves. It is either you are killed or you will kill. I won't let anyone bully you just because they think you might be weak.” I explained to her, yet it didn't take away the fear from her as she stood at arm's length away from me. “Get dressed. We need to get to the hospital” “Why?” She furrowed her brows in confusion. “I need to make sure the baby is fine. For all we know, the slap might have had some sort of effect,” I explained, and she chuckled very loudly. Seeing her cheek parted, I couldn't help but smile. “You really do think that I could lose a pregnancy because of a mere slap.” “I don't know much about humans, but I am very sure you are weak and fragile.” “Stop that,” she barked with a frown on her face. “Werewolves might be stronger creatures, but trust me when I say that humans are far from weak. You have no idea the things we go through every day and yet come out of it. And if you think a mere slap can take me down, trust me, it will take more than that to get to me.” She explained that something was slowly starting to change around her, her face turned red, and her eyes were slowly starting to lose their color. “Are you alright Daisy?” “I don't know, I feel……” She didn't get to finish speaking as she collapsed, but I was fast enough to have grabbed her right before she did.
